Right? Now I just pay people to do things I don’t wanna do. Thank you, Postmates, Instacart and Doordash!
Our anniversary and my milestone, "have been looking forward to this age since high school" birthday are this week. Fresno is a covid shitshow, so braving any restaurants is out of the question. The few nice restaurants I've had in mind for fancy takeout are owned by a horrible human being who has been openly defying restrictions, so I'm not about to give him any business. It's hot as fuck outside even at midnight, so my cute picnic backup idea is a bust. These are all so minor compared to the real things going on. It just all sucks so much.
I’m sorry @Lh718. Is there anything in a neighboring town? I know the towns are small nearby but it might be worth a shot.
Our AC died AGAIN! In FL. In July. When I’m already about to burst into flame from the Lupron most of the time. What did I do to deserve this?!
@virgo the towns around us are even worse! Welcome to MAGA, California. @ClamJam that's a nice option. I'll run it by P. @Kimmers booooo! Come back AC!
How long until the anniversary? Maybe find a fun food gift basket/hamper from a reputable company online to enjoy, depending on shipping time?
@Lh718 yeah I figured. :-( I like Fitz’s idea of a food basket. I keep getting ads for a site called Goldbelly. There are tons of places you can order from. I haven’t used it so I can’t vouch for it but they do have a lot of options (even Carlo’s Bakery in NJ).
Ive used Goldbelly! It's pricey, but for a fun food splurge, it's totally worth it. I sent my bro poutine and we got a donut cake for D's birthday, and I got J some octopus for his birthday (that he said was really good, but I cant vouch). ETA: Also, they frequently have discounts of like $15 or $20 so search for those before you put the offer in. I didn't know that at first. womp womp.
I used Goldbelly for whatever is the fruit anniversary! Delicious blueberry pie from...Maine? Something like that. Pupdate: we're going to postpone for a safer time. I've had a great day/overnight trip in mind since January, and we're hoping to be able to do it before next July, lol.
We pretty much decided the same for our April anniversary @Lh718. It really sucks but there aren't many alternatives. I have a friend who has decided her August wedding is still going forward. Masks not required, so even though I am very disappointed, we have declined the invitation. We just got the shower and bachelorette invites today and I'm so disappointed to decline another event with people I like. I'm so tempted to try and make the bachelorette party work for a bit, but I get so worried.
we are in a similar spot. Bachelorette planned for early September in TX, wedding in November no masks. I’m so disappointed to not be able to go but I can’t see how it’s safe.
After months of being pretty sedentary besides house cleaning, decided to try some exercise videos on youtube with the kids, but then MIL came in and decided to stay and watch... NO THANKS. Nobody besides the kids need to see the hot sweaty mess that is me. Plus i had my shirt tied up like a crop top cuz its so hot today. 90% of the time, living with her is fine and no problem and even super helpful. but uuugh.
Aw man, MIL. Take the kids and let the woman do her workout in peace. She could have gained MIL points instead of having them docked.
My back pain wouldn't let me sleep last night til sometime after 2am. I overslept and was late to work. Now it's torture to be seated.
I submitted a 21-page annotated bibliography for one of my courses earlier today. I now can't manage to finish a 4-page summary of an article. This article is essentially - it even says in the assignment - just another version of the course materials for the very first module we did. So it's busy work to make sure I can APA format still? After my annotated bibliography???? I'm very tempted to just vomit out what I can get onto a sheet of paper, submit it so I don't get a zero, and move on with my life. This summary is dumb.
I finished and submitted it before I came back to complain more. The annotated bibliography had to be APA, too. Why would you make another assignment, due on the same day, with the explicit purpose of "making sure we know how to write a report in APA format"? Don't you think I know how to do that after the annotated bib? Blah. Now it's done and I'm going to let my mind just turn to cheese sauce and stare at a screen for awhile.
So tiiiiired. I went to bed at a decent time but woke up a little bit later with a backache. Then my brain was all, "Hey remember that one patient from two weeks ago? You took her IV out...right?" Of course I did! I'm sure of...I mean yes, I... SCREW YOU, BRAIN.
I have a sinus infection. My face is swollen and everything hurts. Someone send mac and cheese and chicken tenders because I am officially a toddler.
