Yup! J and I were talking about that. But I'm sure after another storm or two he'll be back on the "it won't be that bad" train. He's always been the type who seems to know better than the weatherman.

I'm angry. I'm just so fucking mad today and yesterday and probably tomorrow. At everything and nothing, and it's so frustrating. It's all been too damn much for too damn long, and I'm losing it.

Put it in the book. Let it out. You have plenty to be mad about.

Haha same. No rage cleaning here, just raging about the mess I have to clean up.

Someone in this neighborhood (we think) keeps playing loud music and the bass makes it way through our windows even when closed (and I’m pissed I had to close them because it’s actually pleasant weather outside). I can’t figure out where it’s coming from. Ryan and I even walked around last time we heard it and couldn’t find the source. It was weird and frustrating. I get wanting to hear music but your neighbors don’t! Wear headphones and/or close your windows. WTF. It’s really distracting when I’m trying to work. I’m at the point where I’m constantly angry at people’s selfishness and inability to think about the people around them. I don’t like feeling this way but it’s hard to ignore that behavior.

Another possibility is it’s not in our neighborhood. According to Nextdoor, a lot of people around the island have been hearing the bass and think it’s coming from Oakland. Someone also mentioned boat parties being a possible culprit. Either way, fucking inconsiderate.

Yeah I feel you on this. On Saturday night (Sunday morning?), my neighbour was having a fire in his yard and blasting music out of a truck...at 2:30 in the morning. It was like a radio was on in my bedroom. They were still going at 4:30am when I had to get up to settle S again. :bird:

I was really close to blasting some annoying Alvin and the Chipmunks songs off my deck towards their house at 6am when the kids woke up, but I didn’t want to stoop to that level.

That’s ridiculous. I find loud music acceptable during the daytime but not after noise curfew.

The guy across the street plays drums when I like to nap (ie: right now). He’s getting better but he still isn’t good. Still, I’d rather he do it now than at midnight. I get that we’re all a little more aware of urban sounds while we’re stuck at home, but what can you do? We all need to blow off some steam.

Oh so I found out where it was coming from. The fucking A’s game! We’re not close enough to the Coliseum to be hearing the music that loudly but a bunch of people were saying that’s where it was coming from. It stopped when the game ended. I emailed the Coliseum asking them to please turn the music down tomorrow. I know I’m not the only one who emailed. It went on for 6+ hours today because they started when batting practice started. We have single pane windows so closing them really doesn’t help. I don’t know much about sound but maybe since there are no humans in the stands, the sound is reverberating more and making it travel farther. Idk

I love the post office, I really do but I’m so pissed at them right now. Long story short, Chase Bank completely fucked up our DMV registration for Ryan’s car when we went from a lease to financing. They sat on the documents for 5 months until we got a letter from the DMV in July about incomplete registration then sat on the docs for another 2 weeks before sending them to DMV. Ryan’s registration was due August 2. We’ve been waiting to get the renewal form and finally got something Saturday but it wasn’t the renewal. It was a bunch of docs that Chase sent to the DMV, including the title, that the DMV then sent to us telling us we owe $42. It said to return the docs along with $42 to the DMV. Why they didn’t just send a notice to pay the fee is beyond me. Monday we got a priority mail envelope and sent everything out. We live in the bay area which is about an hour an a half from Sacramento which is where this envelope is going. I just tracked it and it took almost 2 days just to leave the bay area. It left Sac’s regional facility yesterday morning and hasn’t been scanned anywhere since. It also says it’s going to be delivered on Saturday. WTF. I could’ve driven it to Sacramento myself! I know USPS is busy right now but when you pay for priority mail because it’s something really fucking important, you expect it to get to the destination in a timely manner. I just want this registration nightmare to end. I honestly don’t even know if the $42 is going to get us the registration. I’m expecting another notice with like a $500 fee or something.

Well this morning has already been a shitshow. The charge nurses were 30min late with the assignments because whatever. It came out that a certain nurse did not want to go to our covid unit. She has good reasons not to go, but at the same time it was her turn amongst all of us.

The fuckup was on the managers for waffling and trying to shuffle TWO UNITS WORTH OF NURSES around to accommodate her. I got sick of waiting and finally offered to just go and lose the patients I've had to break the stalemate. They said no. Fine. FIVE FUCKING MINUTES INTO REPORT, that nurse comes up to me and said she was told I wanted the covid unit. No. That was a flat out lie. Now everyone is annoyed with everyone, and our mornings have been fucked.

    That’s really frustrating Lh!

I forgot I posted about the DMV and USPS. Update to that- the nightmare has not ended yet. I ended up having to fill out a missing mail form and to the credit of the USPS, they responded within a day or 2 saying it was delivered but the the scan hadn’t gone through. However, we’re still waiting for the DMV to cash the fucking check. Ryan’s registration sticker is 4 months out of date.

@Lh718 Ugh. I’m sorry. Also sucks that just for trying to fix the problem you’ve become the person who “wants” to work the covid unit.

@virgo they lost it? What a pain.

@Afishwish USPS says it was delivered and I believe it was. I don’t know what the hell the DMV did with it though. I know they’re backed up but it’s almost 2 months later and still nothing. The website said it can take 8 weeks if you mail the renewal in so maybe they’ll get to it soon. I told Ryan he’s going to have to call them about it.

OMJG I checked our bank account this morning and that check finally showed up! Posting an update here was good luck. Maybe the nightmare is almost over. Fingers crossed.

Yeah I should’ve known this DMV shit wouldn’t be over. We got an envelope in the mail today from them, opened it and it’s a replacement registration card for the registration that expired in August. WTF. There’s nothing else with it. The website won’t let me renew the registration online but I can calculate fees and we’re sitting at $500 right now which really pisses me off since none of this is our fault. Ryan is going to have to call them and tell them we still haven’t received the renewal notice. I want to scream and cry right now.

Sorry I’m venting again. A friend of mine posted a pic of her waiting to get her first Covid shot. She’s in her 50’s and healthy. She does not work in healthcare and is not in group 1a or 1b. She works for a large healthcare company but in admin not in a hospital. I’m pissed off because she needs to wait her turn. My mom got an email from the same healthcare company this morning saying she was now eligible (she’s in 1b) and to call for an appointment. When she called, they said there were no appointments available. My mom is almost 76 and definitely deserves to get the vaccine before my friend. I’m wondering if the healthcare company is giving cuts in line for their employees. Both Ryan and I are also in 1b and I would like to get my fucking vaccine. She’s taking vaccines away from people who should come before her. I’m seriously pissed off. I posted asking her how she got in already (someone else also asked) and she didn’t respond to either of us.

The distribution is wonky. One of the healthcare providers offered by rooster’s work is small and in the same building. I guess the vaccines are on the verge of expiring, so some of his coworkers are on a waitlist. At the end of the day, if the provider has doses, they call a couple people on the waitlist and say “you have 15 minutes to come get it”. AFAIK you don’t need to be in any special groups or have preexisting conditions.

Correct. It’s as to not waste vaccine vials once they’re opened.

Interesting. California has very specific tiers for the vaccine. I feel like if there were vaccine doses that were going to expire then why are they telling my mom that they don't have anything for her? She could've had an appointment yesterday. It's Kaiser for both my mom and my friend. I could understand if it was 2 different healthcare companies but it seems like Kaiser is screwing over people like my mom. If there's a waiting list for those situations then it needs to be opened for the 75+ crowd and maybe the rest of tier 1b. There are tons of people in that tier who would love to be on a waiting list and could get to the hospital within 15 minutes. Right now the list feels very "I know someone so I get cuts" to me.
I'm actually not sure if that's how my friend got it. She was at a hospital that is about 20 minutes away if there's no traffic. Not sure she would've gotten there in time?

It seems like there are also more doses in a vial then they thought originally, so they may not schedule as many people as they end of having doses. It would be nice, but I’ll happily wait my turn holed up at home for a while longer, The more random people that get it the safer I am when I have to get groceries.
