I love a good plant haul
@lrrr it's a mess and crowded, but my hope is that our next place gives me more space and sunlight!
Jealous of your collection! In the first pic what is that plant in the clear tea cups? It’s has oblong green and white striped leaves? Do you have a Aeschynanthus longicaulis? What did you get from the swap?
In the teacup is either variegated elephant bush (Portucalaria afra) or one of my cream and green Tradescantia hanging in front of it. Yes, I have longicaulis! Good eye. I'm trying to create a lipsticks planter and a goldfish (Columnea) planter with the different kinds. So far I have 3 kinds of lipstick and 1 of goldfish.
I really want a longicaulis but I can't find them anywhere
Wait where is your syngonium albo? I was hoping it pushed out a new leaf by now!
No new leaf but doing well! It's in the smaller group picture in the blue cup with leca. The half moon leaf is too tall for the frame.
Oh in the back, I see it now!
We're out of town for a few days, but I'll do a photoshoot on Sunday of her and some of my other faves .
I wanna see y'all's plant babies, too!!
I don't have any "cool" plants lol. Just google image crispy coffee plant and you'll get the gist.
I did recently put a pole in the siltepacana pot and it seems to be enjoying that.
I got my neon pothos and stromanthe triostar finally! And they are GORGEOUS.
The trio is more green than I expected but the undersides of the leaves are quite red and I care more about that than the pink tops really. We'll see how it grows up!
Do they get more pink in the leaves as it ages?
Mine is super pale pink. I hope the new leaves are more green actually. But they are all different so who knows.
I honestly do not know. I'm not sure why they would but maybe more light will affect it as it grows new leaves?
The pothos is so distracting, every time I walk past it I have to stop to squee a little.
Question for ya - are the syngonium albo leaves papery or are there some weight with them?
@lrrr lightweight but not papery. By comparison, my trio's leaves seem papery to me. Pics of the babies! I got my trio as a rehab project, and she's steadily improving.
Yours is green like mine! @CoolWife just got lucky with her super variegated one I guess.
Does anyone have orchids?
I have a bunch, but nothing special.
DMX had orchids.
I have some normal and a few lady slipper varieties. Are you needing some or tips?
Are there any “easy” ones - beginner friendly? They are beautiful but also intimidating.
@lrrr I think most orchids are fairly beginner friendly due to their nature. You can see the roots so you know the health of the plant if you leave the grow pot inside a fancy pot. I have some in kokedama but only transfer to that after I’ve had it awhile and have figured out some of the watering preferences. They tend to be my less finicky plants overall because you can see the issues faster but they take longer to effect the whole plant so you have time to correct it.
Kokedama - what in the world. They look really cool!
