I want a calathea white fusion, but they're notoriously tough. Also, my never never is not thriving, and that's a related plant.

Me too, but I’m glad I didn’t buy the only one I ever saw after my triostar saga.
My never never is actually quite happy, which is shocking to me. I tried to sell it because I didn’t love it but it grew a bunch more leaves and now I <3 it. (Although I did just stuff it in a pot that's probably too small, so we shall see..)

The market had a cute bitty Peperomia Amigo the other day, so I got it.

So, as they say about pride and the fall @Lh718 … my never never is starting to get crunchy tips. Guess it’s time to try to flush it out and restrain myself with the fertilizer.
@Afishwish I got a cute little watermelon peperomia too, put it outside to quarantine and get some rainfall, and it promptly fell over off the little ledge and bruised up all the leaves that didn’t fall off. So, cool. Hoping a couple of the leaves that got knocked off grow, I put them in a takeout container with some sphagnum moss.
Finally found a little neon pothos and Hoya crimson princess and I love them both so much. The Hoya is already in a 6” pot and it’s big and trailing and so perfect.
And! The cebu blue and emerald pothos cuttings I got a while back are finally pretty well established with 4-5 leaves each and I’m fighting with myself about when to start to chop and prop them to get a decent full plant. I think for now I’ll dig out my Bobby pins and just pin everything down.

Haha I was so proud of my triostar and its babies, but they have started to get the crunchies despite being in my humidity shelf. It's so pretty but makes me sad. I should sell/gift it. My recent obsession with tradescantia gives me plenty of color anyway.

Oh and my Never Never is living up to its name :bored:. It will never be happy.

    Of note.

I’m going to try to put the triostar in leca and see if it’s any happier but it just doesn’t want to be happy, I’m pretty sure.

How it started vs how it’s going. I’m a terrible plant lady

Most succulents can suck it, imho. They sound like easy care, but without a ton of light and the right water, they either stretch way out or just die.
In my jungle; motherfucking mites. My never never was looking thirsty so I lifted up the pot to make sure there was no water in the saucer and OMJG it was crawling with them. Doused everything with nuke em and put diatomaceous earth on the soil anywhere I could reach it.
Also bought a good sized rubber plant at Costco like the basic b I am. Moved my avocado outside to make room for it.

Girl, I love me every pothos I've ever seen. Nothing wrong with the basic plants! Plus they're usually the hardier plants. Usually.

I'm a succulent killer. It's too hard to not water them when the soil is all cracked and looking like a 10yr drought.

@megatron I don’t want to be insensitive here because RIP plant, but it’s kind of hilarious that the pot says “dream big” when Planty clearly…didn’t.

I’d like to admit that I can not keep alive pothos or succulents at all. I am not capable no matter how many times I try.

on the other hand my Pink Princess loves me and I’m finally getting vibrant pink variegation.

I just ordered orchid pots for my pothos and I’m going to try to put them in leca. The fucking gnats are driving me up the wall. I have sprayed and put diatomaceous earth and have sticky traps everywhere. I’m just going to take away the dirt.
I have a lemon lime philo cutting in leca and it just popped open a new leaf so I have high hopes. I have my marble queen in here and I’m just trying to decide when to chop it up. It only has two trailers so I want to make it a lot fuller so maybe I’ll start some in water and put the whole thing in leca in a couple weeks? Idk. Most of them are living up on the window ledge of a north window and seem to love it. The philo Brazil up there has at least doubled in size since I got it in March.
And then I pretty completely killed my SOH already. It’s somehow shriveled up dry and also rotted. Ofc I’m on Etsy now looking for a new one.
@Basil I kind of hate you, lol. I almost impulse bought a pink Princess this morning when I saw a rooted cutting for ~$100. But also I’m still cheap af and will continue to go broke $14 at a time.

Hahaha it’s definitely ironic. I keep hoping it will come back, but it seems to be getting more dried out by the day. So I think it’s over.

However, I think I’ll bring my crochet cactus to work for my new desk plant. Can’t kill that one LOL.

Liking for crochet cactus, not the final death rattle of your succulent.

I sold all my plants while I was in Denver getting the house ready to list. Now that I’m back in CA I want to start over. I already miss the pink agalonema.

@CoolWife if this keeps growing well I will gladly send you a cutting. My ikea greenhouse is turning out all the growth with 5 leaves in 2 months.

:loveu: Also dang! That's impressive! I would love to build one but my husband is already past his point of being able to deal with more plant stuff.
For reference, this is 80% of my plants. The rest are a few orchids on a shelf over the master tub, a sanseviera and pothos in the family room, and my raven zz (plus marble queen temporarily) in the dining room where I work.

Honestly I find it corrals them so well and cleans up visibly my collection. Especially the smaller plants or those rooting. I have way too many plants and would need to sell half of them if I ever get married.

So we're home, and I'm an idiot. Before we left, I unpotted and separated a peace lily to bring some to my SIL and mom. I thought I had removed all the soil from the roots before leaving the rest in a pitcher of water. OMJG I HAD NOT REMOVED ALL THE SOIL! The long tangle of roots rotted and stunk up the house. One whole section had to be tossed. I cut the roots and rotted sections off the other two, did an intense bleach dip, and stuck them in some distilled water. Fingers crossed.

Sounds like something a peace lily would do.

My peace lily is a trooper, but I’m pretty sure that’s because it was an unwanted gift that stayed alive to spite the recipient. Rooster fished it out of his office mate’s trash can after they got tired of waiting months for it to die.

I ordered a Peperomia obtusifolia in a 2.5” pot recently. I expected a cute little baby plant in a tiny pot. Instead I got a fairly large cutting with big leaves in a tiny pot.

My obtusifolia was doing well, but then it started looking bad so I thought I was over watering. So I watered less, and it started looking worse, so I gave it a lot of water. It finally decided to rot completely. I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU WANT!

I have a peperomia caperata that's starting to act the same. Dropping leaves, no interest in living.
