Being a Disney wedding stalker, I see this photographer's work a lot. I also see complaints about his professionalism and product on the message boards, yet brides keep using him. WHY, when you get pictures like this? That Photoshop "aura" makes them look like ghosts!
haha... she doesn't even look happy in that picture. Why would she post that? Or did the photographer post it?
This person charges for their services, really? Man, I am in the wrong business. I am a photoshop novice and even I could do better than that.
He keeps getting hired, and I have no idea why. There are freaking amazing photographers in the area for the same price point.
More from the same photographer. Please note that I did NOT resize these. This is how he uploaded them to his website.
I just don't understand how it is that people still hire and recommend him. He's one of a handful of names that is always mentioned when people ask who they should hire for Orlando/WDW weddings. I guess it's because he's cheaper than the other heavy hitters in that community? But I would for sure take a chance on an unknown before hiring him.
This is just one of his weird tricks, by the way. He also specializes in ... Out of focus: 1990s selective color: Inexplicable fisheye: Crooked horizon lines: Insane vignetting: Absurd Photoshop effects: Bad leading lines: Shallow depth of field that emphasizes something other than his subject: And as you can see, he likes to use 2-3 of these "techniques" per shot.
Haha, I love how the subjects look Photoshopped into their own photos. The crooked horizontals are making me twitch in a not fun way.
There's a conversation about this photographer happening online between two brides right now. It's not public, so here's a paraphrase: Bride 1: My venue only allows preferred vendors. Which photographer should I book? Bride 2: I know my photographer is on that venue's list, and I totally recommend him! Bride 1: No thanks. I hate his pictures. I'm glad you liked yours but I don't care for his work. Bride 2: Most of the pictures he gives you don't look like the ones he posts. Bride 1: Then maybe he should post pictures that look like what he gives to his clients. So the people who hire him and like him and are satisfied with his work are using the fact that the product he gives his clients does not look like his portfolio as a selling point. What's really baffling is that Bride 1 is giving specific examples of why she thinks he's a bad photographer — with pictures! — and people are still only replying to recommend that one photographer. There are at least seven other photographers on this preferred vendor list. Without looking at any of their work, I feel confident saying that means there are seven more qualified vendors one could hire.
No kidding. I can't believe someone in this day and age is still using those editing techniques, never mind getting hired - a lot - while doing it. Does not compute.
The latest is that "a lot of the photos he posts are actually his cell phone photos." Why would he promote his work with cell phone photos? No matter what Bride 1 says about what a bad judge of both art and marketing this photographer is, his clients are still defending him.
