Don’t decorate at first! Do it slowly so you don’t end up with stuff you picked in a rush
Agreed. Enjoy the hunt. Find the right things. The experts say to not even pick paint colors before you move in.
Agreed. Get some paint samples and paint as big a swatch as you can in each room and see if you like how the light hits it.
(Says the woman with only one painted room in the house she's had since February)
I’ll already be working when we move so I think things will necessarily be slow. Still fun to daydream about shower curtains and kitchenware though!
Seconding @A. Ham on painting big swatches and living with them for some time. Paint is weird.
Hell, we started painting the exterior of our house a little over three years ago. We have not yet finished. It looks mostly done from the road.
We hired painters when we moved in but the previous owners had colourful tastes and I was very unwilling to live with it.
This will be anyone who moves into a home I’ve lived in.
Yeah I hope whoever buys this house from us appreciates Florida AF colors. I have zero desire to repaint before selling but it is all SO BRIGHT haha
When I got home with D yesterday, there were 4 Starbucks drinks in the fridge for me
I drank my entire latte this morning while it was still warm.
The dream! I think I’m actually going to buy an insulated coffee mug for my morning coffees so that I too can drink my coffee while it’s hot, once again.
Z’s 30th birthday call was today.
I know he’s been feeling disconnected and off, and to see so many of his friends make time for him and be so excited, loving and enthusiastic made him so happy.
He also just has great friends. They were all sending me messages about how delighted they were that this was happening. When he realized that actually everyone he had wanted to be there made the time, he was so, so happy.
My child shares my love of grilled cheese. #blessed
Just wait until he discovers it dipped in tomato soup!
Take him here someday: https://www.cheesies.com/menus/
And for college me, order the tenderizer and eat it when it's 3 AM and you're really drunk and you may have just told the delivery guy you love him.
@Erie posted earlier about her friend who paints houses. I commission one from her and it just arrived today. I need to get it printed but I have time. It is a gift for TG to celebrate one year in the house, so he won't know about it until August. I love it! Highly recommended, also. The artist exchanged several emails with me and took all of my requests. She even waited for our tree to blossom before finalizing it. Unfortunately, no big blossoms this year so I had to tell her to just go ahead.
(Is the picture showing up for anyone? It was there when I hit "post" but now I can't see it. Might be too large)
No pic for me
Picture is not showing up for me. It sounds amazing!
I have been told to play around with the resolution. Stand by
I don’t think it’s the resolution judging by your edit history. I don’t see that either version of your post ever had any kind of image attached. If the file was too big, the site would have warned you when you tried to upload it.
It did. I got an error message. I must have gotten it the first time I posted and just auto pilot clicked it away
Totally want to see this pic!
The city replaced our water meter and the box today! The guy said it was just too rickety to be useful anymore. I’m so glad because it was the one from the house that was here before... built in the first half of the last century, burned down, then this was a vacant lot for ~15 years before our house was built in 04. The damn thing was sunken, crooked, and half rusted and at the best of times was a trip hazard.
