Excuse the pun, but I just stumbled upon the world of Disney-obsessed costuming moms. The following are all from one Filckr account. It looks like for more than 10 years, this woman has been taking her daughter to Disney parks twice a year, where she dresses her in at least one costume a day to take pictures. This starts in 2004 and keeps going through last year. Disney parks don't allow guests over the age of 14 to wear costumes inside, and this girl has got to be butting up on that limit. EXIF data says that all of these were taken on the same day. They were not the only outfits she photographed on this one vacation: Her daughter is getting to an age now where she's not going to allow herself to be forced into princess dresses much longer. I really want to know what Mom will do then. Open an Etsy shop or immediately start pushing for grandchildren? I'll put more of these into an album and post the link here. You'll have to be a member of our forum to view it, though.
Here's another collage of photos all taken on the same day. I don't think this kid has ever been on a ride in a Disney park. She's too busy doing wardrobe changes.
And that kid is going to grow up some day, and date, and deal with mean girls, and these photos are on social media....
So many questions. Why is she wearing an Alice dress and posing with Marie? Who is the other little girl in the ugly stepsisters photo? Just generally, why?
I just want to see the size of the costume trunk this lady was packing on her flights down to Orlando.
I've seen some of these before, but every place I've seen them always paints it as a "doting mom makes a costume for her daughter for every trip to Disney!". I always thought it was like one new costume for each trip rather than 12 costumes per day per trip. I've only been to Disney once and I would have been sad if I'd never gotten to ride anything because my mom was making me wear a bunch of costumes to take pictures.
I'd like to point out that in that album, there's a picture of this girl from 2013, and her boobs were already bigger than Cinderella's.
Holy shitsies. On a different note, the costumes worn by the Disney employees are not reallly up to snuff. Some of these overbearingdisneymom's girl's costumes are better.
I'm guessing that the no-over-14 rule for costuming has to do with making sure that the Disney brand is staying intact for pictures and the whole nine yards, yes?
That, and they also say it's for security. You don't want little kids running up to any half-baked weirdo with park admission and a good costume.
My favorite though is the one where she is from Mary Poppins. I'm gonna go to bed humming "chim chim cheree" now!
While mom trails behind her with seven garment bags slung over her shoulder. So that'll be the next step. Mom trying to push the limit between street clothes and costumes.
Especially the set of pictures with the same cast (Evil stepsister and stepmother) and the girl in two different costumes. Did the mom carry a portable changing room around with her??
The people in line behind them would be so pissed. I assume they took the picture, went and changed, then got in line again. It sounds like such a commitment of time and energy, especially knowing how long those character lines get during peak season when some of these were taken.
