wasn't sure which subforum to put this under and someone is welcome to come up with a better title. Didn't think I saw one on this topic.

This house showed up in my Facebook feed from a realtor to show off the master bedroom/ensuite before it gets officially listed. We've got some poor realtor photos:

    Lovely outdoor extension cord decor

Hey it even comes with their laundry.

Then the piece de resistance. The open concept bathroom.

Perfect for the Bee that needs to monitor her husband's shits.

I want to say that when J and I were looking at real estate in Colorado we also saw a similar set up in an otherwise perfect house.

This is a great idea for a thread because there are SO many terrible realtor photos, especially on the UK sites I look at.

The open concept bathroom is...no. On our honeymoon we had a really nice suite in a lovely b&b, but the jacuzzi tub (and shower) were in the corner of the bedroom. It was...interesting. Now I'm grateful the toilet and sink were in another room of their own

I could accept the sink in the room but not the toilet. C initially thought that maybe it was intended for a single person living there, but it's a 3 bed, 3 bath (probably actually 2.5 since that ensuite isn't full) home. It's also bordering the hood so it's a steal of a deal.

The whole thing is open, it's a loft. I love the screen pulled in front of the shitter in the one picture, and especially the floor to ceiling window right next to it.

Also: I would fall down the stairs getting up to pee EVERY NIGHT.

Every hotel we've stayed at in Niagra Falls had the open concept bedroom/bathroom. At least the shower and toilet were in a water closet. I couldn't imagine having the toilet out in the open like that.

Edit: are those openings on either side of the bed? Like to the downstairs?! So negative privacy in the bathroom?

Yes! The whole space is a converted loft.

Yep. I assume that there's no to minimal visibility into the bedroom but who knows. Soundproofing is completely non-existent though.

I mean, I don't understand why anyone would ever design it that way in first place but I guess if I was single I'd be okay with that setup. I'd send my *cough* sleepover guests *cough* down the stairs to the second bathroom though if they needed to use it (there is one, right?). A privacy screen is not going to cut it.

One of my exes owned an open concept condo that had the bedroom on a second level but it was still open to the lower level kitchen/living room (it just had a half wall, so you would not want any toddlers up there or anything). It was fine as it was just him living there, and his bathroom was still behind an actual door.

ETA: now that I think about it even the studio loft I rented for a couple years during law school (which was basically a converted attic) at least had the bathroom behind the door, even if everything else was in just one shared space. I was living the high life though, as I had a Futon to sleep on, and a Futon to sit on, and they were about 10-15 feet apart from each other.

All I can think about is hoping that whoever you live with doesn't get like, Taco Bell diarrhea and can't make it to the other bathroom. Enjoy that smell while you're trying to sleep...

Do you guys have magic bathroom doors that stop bad smells in your en suites? Because when that shit happens irl it doesn't matter that our master bath toilet has a door in front of it, you smell it. Or at least the fresh linen shit smell that floats out behind the febreeze.

A good bathroom fan and a closed door seems to work wonders.

Our toilet is in its own little room, so as long as I'm not in the main bathroom and am in the bedroom instead, I would never know. The door to that toilet room is always closed anyway.

That house looks like a low-rent '80s coke den.

So where is the shower in that master 'suite'? I thought the window next to the toilet was the door to a walled in shower but seeing it on a computer screen says otherwise.

Can you touch the bathroom vanity from the bed? Our house is just stupidly laid out and the master suite is no exception.
