Oh no!! How are you feeling?
I feel fine, mostly just groggy and out of it. It's pretty hot here, the pollen count for grasses is stupid high. I'm pretty sure I just have an ear infection and allergies and medication interactions going on, which combined with the temperature being pretty warm gave me a higher-than-normal BBT (between 37.2 and 38, when normally my temperature tends to settle around 36.5). The nurse I spoke to on health line even agreed with me, but protocol is any temperature needs a 10-day isolation and swabbing.
They're sending me off for a swabbing because of the temperature, which is fine, and I have plenty of sick leave, so that's also fine. I just still have this thing instilled in my brain from retail that I need to go to work or else I'll ruin my career.
We are pretty sure we had COVID in March - the week before things shut down completely, we were in two different hospitals for me to do some testing, one of which had an outbreak around when we got sick. It was so early in the process that they weren't doing a lot of testing on everyone then, only high risk and people who had been out of the country.
@Cashmere Bandit how are you feeling?
Apparently my uncle (whose daughter had that 60 person wedding last month) and his wife are flying to LA to stay with my aunt (the one who’s always on chemo). I am really pissed off about it. My dad said “well they can stay with me since I can handle COVID better”. My dad is exactly the sort of person who’d end up on a ventilator, but he doesn’t believe that.
I’m so pissed at the irresponsibility, and I’m passed that my speaking up accomplishes nothing.
Then there’s my aunt’s appeasement of “well my oncologist says it’s ok”; the oncologist also okayed her traveling to the wedding and they’ve signed off on local travel like Palm Springs. If the oncologist is truly okaying this, I’m flabbergasted. I don’t know too many doctors, but I’m pretty sure the ones I know would never approve any of this for a patient in her position.
Thank you, @fantasynerd
Ugh, I’m sorry you too are dealing with family foolishness. Even if you know you can’t do anything it’s frustrating as hell.
What is it with these boomers thinking they’re invincible?
