Borders? That love is the president of heretical.
There is nothing “oh-so-safe” about 36,000 people milling around the same campus, especially if you have people in dorms.
On Samantha Peszek's* Instagram, someone told her to come comment for the SEC since they don't live in fear They threw in ACC as well, but we have had to postpone our first football game due to a cluster in athletics.
*Former UCLA/Olympic gymnast and Pac12 commentator for football and gymnastics.
An Arkansas parent is also confident in the school's ability to keep them safe. Again, I say:
OMJG these people
Read this today.
Bama’s telling professors to keep quiet about covid
WOW. I mean it's not a surprise at all, just that it's out in the open.
Rediscovered this pic in my phone. It was from March. In hindsight, Broken Jesus was a dire omen we did not heed.
We've started DVRing new episodes of Wheel of Fortune so we have something easy to watch when needed. I think I ruined the show for J though. I thought it would be funny the other day to just start softly clapping any time the contestants did (while the wheel spins, after the letter is called etc.) We bought thought it was hilarious but then also noticed how often they clap and it's A LOT. Now every time we watch an episode J gets super distracted and bothered by the clapping. Like it's still funny to him that he will clap along for a puzzle, then he starts going on about all the clapping and how he can now understand why the contestants struggle with some of the puzzles because they are clapping too much to think.
Clapping too much to think
My dad went to Mexico this weekend. He’s home now, but wtf, dad*?!
*I know this is a consistent theme here
I don’t know how anyone is traveling for fun right now. That’s crazy!!
I’m getting tired of hearing people on the news complain that schools are still closed. If they could hear the shit teachers hear in Zoom, they would understand. I’ve had multiple students tell me about parties they’ve gone to or are going to especially with holidays coming up. I have kids telling me they’re getting together with family for Thanksgiving which means going without masks when eating (at minimum). I had one kid go to Turkey for 2 weeks. If parents can’t be responsible, why should schools open? Again, that’s crazy!
A coworker was telling us his teenage daughter is positive. She went to her grandmothers funeral and someone there was symptomatic and waiting on test results. Got positive results the next day and now at least 10 people from the funeral have it.
We were planning to drive back to PA to visit our immediate families and so J could hunt but not sure that will happen now.
We are not going anywhere. Might let my parents come and get C1 for the week after thanksgiving so he’s not in daycare when everyone comes back with it.
I have two coworkers now in quarantine/limbo. My BFF’s daughter’s friend tested positive. They didn’t find out until after her daughter had what they thought was a cold. So she’s waiting on results and the whole family is quarantined for 14 days, assuming the daughter had it. And one of the guys here - his wife is symptomatic after having some coworkers with it. She’s also waiting for results, thank goodness so many people are taking next week off.
This is so fucking negligent.
My mom called me the other day in a panic about "those maga people not wearing masks" because she's supposed to fly to Colorado and spend a month with my brother's family. She has limited insurance provided by the county that is only good in the county. Plus she has at least 1 layover and was freaking out about being with "those people." We had a long talk that included her saying she was scared of carrying the virus with her to my nephew.
Less than 12hrs later, she's texting about all the stuff she has to do before her flight.
But...why is she traveling at all?
I came across the term “freedom pneumonia” today and it made me laugh more than it should have.
OMJG that's too much
My boss wants me to come in to work just to sign Christmas cards. Um. No? Lol I have refused for much more consequential things and two staff are currently out with COVID.
Yeah, that’s going to be a no.
WTF. That would be a gigantic no from me too.
My grandma’s senior home has been safe...until this week. Outbreak declared with 1 staff and 1 senior positive. Everyone else has been tested and they are locking down to visitors, unless there’s a valid reason for coming in. Hopefully they can get it under control grandma is 95, so odds of her coming back from getting covid wouldn’t be great.
Oh no Mega! I hope your grandma stays safe from it. That’s so scary.
