@Afishwish Honestly, I don't know. My temperature still hasn't dropped but it's stayed pretty steady (37.2), which is incredibly odd for me. Even the steadiness is completely odd for me, I usually have quite a bit more variation, especially in the 36-degree range. It lingering so high is just so odd - but they've played with the dosage of the medication I've been being given to control and shrink my prolactinoma, so since hormones are batshit it might be that. I've woken up the past two nights at 3am with a really awful cough, but it still does feel like just nasty allergies - which still coincides with the high grass pollen in my area. We're both self-isolating till my test comes back regardless. Our big TV started to fail a few days ago. It felt more catastrophic because of self-isolating than it normally would have. Then Mr. Bandit fixed it and I cried. I never imagined crying over a television being broken/fixed before.
Sorry late reply but those are literally her favorite candies. She buys them for herself when she sees them (Bit O Honey is a little harder to find now) and it's not Halloween time when she can swipe them. We found a bag of Bit O Honey at Cracker Barrel back before Covid and she ate the whole bag on the drive home. She is a mom who will give up stuff she likes for her kids, but in this instance it just happens that some of the worst candy is some of her favorite. I think it's a nostalgia thing for her.
Unfortunately it's probably not Verizon proper, just one of the companies they contract sales out to. Those companies tend to be a lot less caring about employees than other places. Not saying Verizon is all that caring, just that they don't depend on the door to door sales entirely so they can afford to not put people out right now, while these contractors can't
My MIL is so cute. Maybe six months before the pandemic, she finally got a smartphone. But she had no idea how to use it beyond making calls, nor anyone to teach her. And she has very limited experience with electronics of any sort, let alone ever used a computer. Think limited high school education behind the Soviet bloc. Since then, she figured out how to use Google to search for news et al from her home country. But she freaked out and called my BIL in a panic when she landed on YouTube, thinking she would cost a ton of money. I started sending her photos on her phone (one at a time) cause she can open them when she gets an alert. But she couldn't ever go back to them, for example. It's totally made her day, so I have started sending her photos of the most mundane things, especially the garden. Well, just now I got two photos of her garden! I am super impressed that she figured that out on her own. This is three days since she figured out how to text me.
That’s awesome! Go MIL! We had a guy come do some repair work yesterday; the repairs were just at the point where they needed to be done. We asked that he wear a mask, we had our windows open in the area where he worked, and Fry and I stayed outside. We were pretty careful. Well today he had a physical and while he says he feels ok, he has a low fever. At least he told us, but damn.
Well shit @Afishwish. I think you were plenty careful but who needs that to worry about?! I got my Botox yesterday and the doc complimented my togetherness (I actually put on jeans and booties with a cute-ish top). I was like "only because I had to leave the house!" Now I have a group meeting at 4 and I'm like... do I pretend my camera doesn't work or find something that isn't a ratty tshirt and maybe dry my hair.
The two or three times I have left my house to do something that isn’t a medical related appointment, I semi-dress up (well, just actually put myself together a bit) because that’s literally the only time I get to go out and feel a bit more normal lol.
Jeff Goldblum willing, when Covid’s over I feel like people are going to be very put together for those first few weeks. Either that or lots of pajamas because everyone who matters has seen you in them already.
I don't think I own any non-stretchy pants. I just got a pair of fuchsia yoga pants and this is my style now.
There are cops, firefighters and a tow truck surrounding a car in our lot. I think J might join the neighborhood watch based on how intrigued he is with watching this through the window. He found the perfect place to stand and hear the cops where they couldn’t see him.
Completely! I asked him if he was going to post it on Nextdoor? He said he was going to post it on our apartment community message board, “you know, where everyone posts about their missing packages that were stolen?”
Family COVID testing on Friday. Yaaaaay. Drive through testing so that’ll be fun with the kiddos in their car seats. A woke up with a fever and threw up this morning, so better to be safe and confirm. I don’t think it’s COVID, but I’ll feel better when I know for sure.
Power is out from Isaias since yesterday. Power company gave a general "most customers will have it back by Sunday night" ETA. This is already the longest I've personally been without power. Could be worse, but overall, 2020 strikes again. This is simultaneously the most lackluster and yet unforgettable summer ever.
Good luck @megatron I'm sure they'll do fine, and fingers crossed it's not COVID!! @Apples&Oranges that really sucks. I hope it's back on soon!
