Geez 8 days in a row @shakespeer ?! That's brutal.
Mom: can I stay longer?
Doctor: oh of course. Since you had a csection, you can stay two more nights. [She's already post-OP day 2.]
Mom: well I was hoping to stay another week.
Six straight more elevens on the NICU. I can do this, right? Probably?
You got this shakes!
Was just asked how many resources I need to budget for the X upgrade project. X is the system my team owns. My answer was “what X upgrade project?” We got files on Sunday night asking for our 2021 budget by close of business today but no one has provided us with a list of projects we need to budget for? How the eff am I supposed to do this? Every question I ask is answered with a complete vague non answer so I’m just going to ask for a small army and let them fight me on it.
I signed up for a training today and am currently sitting at the site with no signs or other information or people.
Update - called the unit and got the correct room. One form said it was at the new learning center, which it was not. Oh well.
Also got my flu shot and new badge with my RN II status! Much excite.
This is work life now. Meeting from 7-9pm. Listening online, getting translations texted to me, C1 sitting on the floor kissing my leg and bringing me LEGO gifts.
I was off my game today. I’ve been teaching from home for the past 2 weeks and went into my classroom today. Forgot to bring the teacher edition math books that have the answers in them. Oops. Then the microphone on my work computer didn’t work but luckily I had brought my MacBook so I signed into Zoom on that. BUT the document camera only works with the work computer so I had to stay signed in on that one. It was a shit show at the beginning. It got better but I felt off for both of my classes. Also, I enjoy teaching my 5th graders more than the 4th graders. They’re more mature and don’t randomly unmute themselves to make noise. I do like most of my 4th graders. It’s just a few who ruin the meeting.
Oh geez, I hate when that happens @virgo (being thrown off your game by something). Glad you were able to get through
I'm so annoyed and especially because I did it to myself. We can put in our schedules beginning at midnight on designated days. I always thought that was a computer imposed time. Last week I was surprised to see the button to submit my choices was live at 1130, and I clicked it to see what would happen. My choices were saved!
Well, it is not a computer imposed time but a rule with work. The charge who does scheduling messaged me today to take down my requests and re-enter them. No problem. Except it kicked me out of almost every single day I chose! Now my schedule for Nov sucks donkey balls. Hard lesson learned. I would have appreciated just a warning this first time, but I get that life's not as soft-hearted as I want, lol.
Ugh that sucks Lh! It was only 30 minutes off too so it would’ve been nice if the person in charge had just done a warning.
To encourage people to get their flu shots, my work is offering a $50 bonus to anyone who gets theirs before 12/1! I was going to get one anyway but yay $50.
Here I was, happy about getting a $5 gift card to Target.
Haha, I got ice cream and was pretty stoked!
I got to stay employed.
Yeah every other year it’s either free at work or the $5 target gift card so this is very exciting.
We had two sets of twins born today! I'm always so excited about twins as long as I'm not their nurse, haha.
My old boss continues to haunt me and be an ass.
He replies to one of my emails asking me to change the distribution for this information. Ok whatever. Attaches a spreadsheet with 50 people on it. Note on the top “please consider email address is set like “lastname.firstname@sub...” when you search..”
Wow. Thanks! Is that why I haven’t been able to send an email in 6 years?!
Glitch in the matrix moment. I'm the only nurse in our overflow unit upstairs. Between in/out of two rooms, some papers appeared at my station. They were from the chart of a patient downstairs. She's not new, either, and has been here since before we opened up the overflow rooms. The papers are nothing a doctor would ever need to take out of the chart. My charge and the patient's nurse were equally confused when I popped downstairs to return them.
Doctors the last three days: Imma schedule all my inductions and csections at the beginning of the day then do rounds in the afternoon. Discharge orders to follow.
Also doctors: WHY ARE THERE NO OPEN ROOMS FOR MY INDUCTIONS AND CSECTIONS?
We've been so good for 6 months and J finally accidentally walked into the background of one of my work video calls. I typically text him when I start a video call and he didnt see the text I guess and came into the room. Of course it was a leadership call with all the leaders including our CIO. He noticed and left quickly and at least he had clothes on since he just got back from the store!
Ha. Baby comes to a lot of mine. C1 also always wants to see what’s going on at my evening calls. One of my first calls back at work D walked in and reached over the camera with a snack for me.
Ugh of course it was that call of all calls. But honestly, it’s going to happen with working from home, and I’m assuming J wasn’t disruptive other than popping in and out quick, so try not to worry too much. People need to be a little understanding with these weird times we are in.
Yeah my boss has had her kids pop in a few times on the same call but at least kids are cute and innocent! He just looked like a creeper because it's a long room and he was wearing dark colors so it was a shadowy figure toss something into a laundry bin and turn around fast. I'm impressed we made it this far and I'm sure it will happen again.
