Re: Chicken Movie Club The Big Lebowski is always fun. ETA: Would a scary movie be okay? I always want to watch one but am such a huge wuss. Maybe group watching would make it okay.
Re: Chicken Movie Club D says that we should rename this thread the "Shit that Sassy should have seen by now movie club."
Re: Chicken Movie Club What have you seen? I'll nominate Poltergeist or The Devil's Backbone if you like a good ghost story.
Re: Chicken Movie Club I haven't seen The Devil's Backbone and Spanish horrors are usually scary as shit. So my vote is for that one.
Re: Chicken Movie Club She might never watch another horror movie, though. But at least if she's only seen one, it will have been the right one.
Re: Chicken Movie Club I'm game for Devil's Backbone! Like you said, if I only end up watching one, it might as wel be a good one. Convo that just hapened: Me: Have you seen Devil's Backbone? Do you think I could handle it? P: Yeah, you can practically see it from our house. Me: WTF? What about where we live reminds you of it? P: The fact that we can see it...? It's the ridge that leads up to Mt. Baldy.
Re: Chicken Movie Club It's the best stormy night chiller. It's not full of gore and jump scenes, but it's creepy. I think you'll like it.
Re: Chicken Movie Club Amen. U Sass! All of these ideas work for me because movies. This thread was a good idea.
Re: Chicken Movie Club I still haven't watched Mean Girls. But I don't care what is picked. I will pick up the movie if I don't own it!
Re: Chicken Movie Club I am really ashamed that I haven't seen some of these films and I actually considered myself a movie buff up til now. So, not trying to change the subject or anything (*ahem*) but I'd just like to point out that deet hasn't seen Mean Girls yet.
Re: Chicken Movie Club Haha! Don't feel bad, I had to spend a couple years deliberately catching up on stuff I'd never seen, and there are still things people would gasp at me for missing. I would go to the movie theatre almost every week, but somehow never got around to watching much older stuff. Every time a movie alluded to or spoofed a classic, it went right over my head. My rooster also makes sure I watch things I wouldn't choose for myself. But let's be clear - he's not always right. He's that guy who goes to Blockbuster (R.I.P.) and chooses the movie that has only one copy on the shelf. Not always terrible, but frequently. Here, Sassy, a gift for you: I have never seen The Godfather. You're welcome.
Re: Chicken Movie Club LOL, V, I haven't seen Godfather either. Can I just say, though, that my shame doesn't even compare to how happy I am that I get to watch these great films with you guys? I am seriously giddy and can't wait for next weekend. I really enjoyed the Oscar Challenge, but I know it would get to be very taxing to have a challenge every month. So I'm really, really happy about Chicken Movie Club. Deet!
Re: Chicken Movie Club If I am home and the movie is available on netflix I am so in! (Or if I can find a stream of it somewhere)
