What do you send to friends stuck at home for weeks or months when one of them is dying? I’m at a loss. All I have idea-wise so far is a lovepop bouquet card in cheery colors.

Friend is recovering from surgery and then it’s hospice.

@CoolWife she has stomach cancer and how long she lives will largely be determined by if she can eat, so it’s a good suggestion but I’m not sure it would be the best in this particular case.

Flowers or something pretty to look at is fairly safe. Depending on her energy levels, maybe an (easy) activity they can do together like a puzzle?

So, my brother and his fiancée are asking everyone for cash for their wedding. They have a small registry but they have told people to say cash if anyone asks. After 30 years of watching my brother be terribly irresponsible with money, I'm not doing that. I just can't. Anyway, J and I have been decluttering and downsizing and we have a 3.5 qt Le Creuset dutch oven that we've used once, it's just too small for us. It looks brand new and has been stored in the box. I think it would be a really nice gift to give them, plus it costs me "nothing" since I bought it for myself in 2017 but I also have a feeling they will be annoyed its not cash. Also, being in the wedding and paying for all of that, plus the travel for the destination wedding and the shower, I also don't even need to get them anything at all. But is this a bad idea for a gift?

Yeah a person would have to be seriously ungrateful to not love anything Le Creuset.

Ok. I think I’m just overthinking it because I know how much of an ungrateful twat he can be  If he complains I’m taking it back.

I'm working on a project for our 9th anniversary in July. Do any Chickens know any ceramic artists? It wouldn't be anything big or fancy, but I figured better to give a small bit of business to friends before strangers.

And no, I don't think he reads the boards. I just figured it would be my luck that this one time lol.

I don’t, unfortunately. Maybe check out a local studio?

I wish I could help but I don’t know of any either. I bet there are some in Oakland though. They have a lot of art spaces and I’m sure there’s got to be at least one ceramic artist in one of them.

Sort of, maybe? I’ve been “collecting” California artists to feature in the store I’m opening. I have cards for a couple ceramic artists I’ve met recently. Feel free to text me.
