@Comet our kids have to have the full array of available dino clothing by now right? Sold on no teeth.
What are your guys thoughts on these personalized storybooks? Was thinking of ordering one as a gift for R for Father's day but not totally sold
@hallokween ’s beau got her one. I’m curious too, I’ve made and not followed through with purchasing several.
I made C a custom board book. I’ll see if I can find the link! (Okay it was easier than I realized lol) https://pinholepress.com/mini-book-of-names-and-faces You can make it anything you want. So I did “The ABCs of C” and so like page 1 says “A is for aunties. You have 5”. Then the adjoining page is a collage photo of the 5. (It only lets you upload one image per page but just use picstitch or similar). Now there are not enough pages for every letter so like one page says “O is for outside and P is for puppies” and then the pic is him with the dogs outside etx. He loves it and reads it in bed (toddlers love pictures of themselves lol). You could do like “The ABCs of dad” and make it all pics of them together or like “Dad of the year” and do a pic/theme from each month (January/pic of them in Jan). eta- I obv cannot post pics here but lemme know if you wanna see what I mean and I’ll send you pics!
It’s going to kill me to spend this day actually working and not getting started designing some books!
I love those! I kind of want to make one for C, but I know myself too well to actually do it. I'd start off putting in a ton of effort and making cute pages, but I'd eventually get to "Z is for zero (the # of fucks Mommy has for this project now)". It's basically where every craft project I ever start ends up.
@Comet im determined, but I also spent FIVE HOURS today making a file of pics and slowly realizing the vast majority of them are pretty similar and therefore most don’t really work for the kind of book I want to do!
My BIL is REALLY opinionated about everything and pretty obsessive with geography. Since Fry’s into it too and BIL didn’t know what to get him for his upcoming birthday, we suggested a globe or atlas. We came up with a few suggestions on cheap globes from amazon. BIL nixed them and told us he would only gift a certain brand of globe, for reasons I am uncertain of. It cracked me up that he would have a favorite globe brand, because of course he would.
It makes a totally random, freshly googled list of best 11 globes/globemakers, so at least there's that. I'm gonna have to put my vote behind the globes that hold liquor bottles, but that may be a bit much for Fry.
Does anyone have locket experience? I've had lockets before, but have never been able to get a photo into them. I want to get S a locket for her birthday. I'm hoping to find something kind of mid range, price wise, and can include the option to put the photo in for me. I don't want it to break super easily, but I'm nervous to get her an expensive locket when she's never really been tested with jewelry before (she's turning 7). Any suggestions of what to look for/avoid? I've been looking on Etsy so far, but I'm open to whatever.
I don't have specific links, but I'd suggest something in sterling silver or rhodium, because it will last a while but not super expensive in case of 7 year old forgetfulness (I know S is a careful child, too). You can also get a photo printed and cut it out/stick it in yourself. Very different, but I got a little locket for a Chicken Christmas and FB stalked to find pics of her kids and just glued them in there. That's a really sweet idea, though. When I was little I always wanted a locket, but I wanted someone to gift it to me.
Yes! I had a locket from someone but I could never print a picture that turned out clear enough when small that I could put it in. S is so sentimental that I think she would completely love it. I'll look into a rhodium chain I think. Sterling silver will tarnish over time, right?
