@calicat Beautiful names!
It was totally J's suggestion so I can't take full credit
So far we each have two names we like:
First two are mine, next two are rooster’s. Fry is team Fern, but he also really likes ferns (PNW kid). Unfortunately rooster thinks it’s too hippy. I explained to him the name’s more classic than that, but he won’t be swayed.
Honestly I think they’re all good.
Yes, we are. I think one from the list will be nice.
My only issue with Fern is yours and your husband and Frys names are pretty common, Fern seems like "one of these things is not like the other" territory?
That's a personal preference though
I love Zoe and Emily is a beautiful classic name! So team one of each, haha.
Love fern so much.
I'm with Fry on this one.
@Afishwish who got to name Fry? Like whose top choice?
I like Zoe and Fern - perhaps Zoe a smidge over Fern?
Now I want to go watch Jawbreaker
I just feel like Fern is so classic but also feels so modern. How many baby Ferns do I know? None. But I would want a baby Fern.
Same but Sugar & Spice
From purely holiday card thinking, I like Zoe and Emily the most, but I think they’re all nice!
So I think I was actually thinking about Sugar & Spice, but when I googled it, I only found Jawbreaker.
I LOVE Fern for you, Fish.
I like Zoe for first and Fern for middle. Zoe Fern.
Sorry, way late. I love that so many of you love Fern! Sadly, rooster is not digging Fern. He is open to Zoe. We’ll see.
Honestly, we don’t remember. We had so much trouble agreeing on a name that only on Day 3 when we were both exhausted, one of suggested “Fryname”, which wasn’t even on our shortlist. We were late enough naming him that for about a year the state sent stuff to “Baby Boy Ourlastname”. We’re hoping to figure that out a bit earlier this time.
@Afishwish gotcha. Not that it super mattered anyway, just figured that parent might get 55-45 vote in the name of fairness. Team Fern personally though. I've known a Fern since HS, and she's a sweetheart of human.
