That's insane! Hopefully people and towns stay safe in this crazy weather. Our apartment's pool in Hayward...
I saw that about Kirkwood. It's crazy!! I know we've had strong winds before but it usually doesn't last long and this one lasted for hours. I think that's why there's so much damage everywhere. Our neighborhood seemed to hold up ok but there were a lot of power outages in Alameda which is rare. 880 was shut down in both directions in San Leandro because a power pole fell across it. Insane!
Watched three guys, who live across the street from Toronado, get permanently banned (during Beer Week, no less), and the schadenfreude was awesome.
The fact that MWG has lived here all his life and never drank a beer at Toronado until I took him tells you everything. https://www.thrillist.com/drink/san...bartenders-detail-how-to-not-piss-them-off-sf
@Rico Suave I feel you on that. It hasn’t been quite as warm up here as San Diego but it’s still too warm for fucking February. Also the bay area has had zero rain in the month of Feb.
We’re pushing up on 80°F today and I fucking love it. Except this place is gonna go up like a tinderbox this fire season. Sac hasn’t had any rain for the whole month either. If it doesn’t rain Saturday, it will be the first dry February on record. I’m used to getting that early “fake spring” here, but usually it’s a week or two, not a month.
Yikes. We’ve had a couple of random bouts of rain this month and it’s been in the low 70s, high 60s, like normal. It’s been really nice, which is why I was not expecting to see 82!!! 82 my butt tho. It was overcast and maybe got to like 75ish, and I live “inland”.
@Honey ugh fire season is going to be a nightmare. @shakespeer come on over! Ben would love another lap to sit on.
West coast, who’s still awake? 1) I’ve been in CA for the last six weeks and it’s been lovely. 2) There’s a non-zero chance that I do not get on my scheduled flight back to CO on Tuesday. 3) Not even problems: I need to get up and wash my hair, but my grandma’s cat is sleeping on me and I don’t want to disturb her.
You know how they say to sing “Happy Birthday” twice while you wash your hands? I just took a hot shower long enough to play the entirety of Carnival of the Animals twice. That’s self-care, right?
This may be one of the most endearing Honey idiosyncrasies ever. And you have a lot of endearing qualities
