My plants are all alive!! Hardy little babies. We're taking them all back because I can't leave them again.

New baby dropped off on my porch because that’s how you exchange plants these days.

I made a private shopping appointment at a local plant shop that specializes in indoor plants. I am hoping to find something to put on top of each of these:

I don’t know WHY it’s been automatically rotating my pics lately when I upload them! I can’t make it stop.

Yeah any pothos would be great! What’s the light situation like?

Pretty good light, the Palm I have in the living room does well. No direct sunlight but the windows are open all day and the room gets a good amount of light through them and the front door (which is mostly glass).

Going to see what they recommend!

Thanks! I got them from (I think) Pottery Barn when I was like, 20. They were one of my first purchases for my first apartment all on my own in DC. I still love them.

I bought more than I planned to but this was too pretty to pass up:

Got this little neon pothos so I can watch it grow:

Great buys! They're beautiful, and that variegated pothos is so lush. They're fun to propagate, too, and you can be overrun with baby plants in no time!

Yeah this store I went to had amazing plants. They all were like, perfectly cared for. This is the best these will ever look so I figured I’d take pics now lol.

All true. I am (happily) drowning in them, and have given babies as gifts. @Erie that neon is particularly pretty, what kind of nursery did you do your shopping at?

I had a weird dream last night but in it I had a house and the house had a lot of like, potted tree type plants? And I woke up wanting them. Any recommendations for medium-sized indoor trees? I prefer wider leaves and fuller plants, in general, (vs tall/skinny leaves or things with lots of space between branches) and also need things that are hardy because so far my pothos is the only thing I've managed to keep alive more than a year or two. (I am not a water-every-day person).

A local store in St Petersburg, they specialize in indoor plants and basically it was an entire store full of picture perfect plants. They’ll never look better than this I’m positive.

Ugh, I'm sure we have something like that here, I will have to check. I bet it was so gorgeous in there.

EDIT: I already found a place! Site looks nice. Closed right now, obvs, but I'll definitely go by there when they reopen.

EDIT: Damn it all the trees are out of stock!

I love the variegated one! They are so easy and fun to grow. I don’t have any here (yet) but I think I have a place for one.
@Vespidae i have a fiddle leaf fig (I know, so basic) that likes my kitchen. It’s full-ish and I think it’s pretty.
I also got my avocado seed to sprout and once I planted it last week it started growing like 1”/day, so Imma grow an avocado tree in my living room.

How long do avocado trees take to fruit? That sounds awesome.

I’m sure longer than I’ll keep it alive.

I looked into sprouting a pit and it sounded like up to 10 years, and even then some never do produce fruit. I threw the pit away lol. Too long for me!

I think most won’t produce fruit unless the environmental conditions are ideal. You’d probably have better chances given your location, but still. If you’re growing an avocado plant from a pit, you’re doing it to be a plant parent, not a farmer.

Fair enough I just read that and was like ten years for potentially nothing?? Never mind! I don’t have that patience lol.

Yeah I’m in it for the science experiment and houseplant, not the fruit.
