Plot twist - doll sent it.
Rooster and I are now trying to figure out what to do with it. We aren’t at all religious, but it feels like bad karma to toss it in the garbage lol. Into the attic with the doll when we go?
Hide it somewhere creepy for the next occupant!
My answer depends entirely on how cute it is and how superstitious you are.
You know what? Don’t listen to me at all.
It’s pretty plain
My superstition level is ouija board level, don’t particularly believe in it, but not gonna get too disrespectful either
This happened to me once and I threw it in the trash without a second thought and now I guess I know why my house is haunted.
Yeah, you need to go all out. Get a wooden jewelry box, put the rosary in that with dried flowers, some old obituary, and random keys. Hide it. The next person will freak out.
Also maybe an older Bible with sections about demons, etc frantically underlined.
This will look fantastic tucked in with the voodoo doll. Off to Goodwill to find a old wooden little box to put it all in!
Make sure there's a wooden lid that you can hammer nails all the way around the lid.
Maybe mangle some of the nails so it looks like something was trying to get in/out of the box.
Tiny scratch marks inside the lid
Wrap a silk ribbon around the box, and tuck a sprig of herbs in it, like someone sealed it with a spell
I think you guys are all the evil ones
The call does sometimes come from inside the house
The only thing terrible is that we won’t get to know the reaction of the person who finds it
They’ll send it to you, best not leave a forwarding address. Or at least make it a PO Box.
Leave the forwarding address as an abandoned field preferably with a dilapidated old house.
reading the last 2 pages of this thread just brought tears to my eyes. you guys out to scare the living daylights out of somebody
in other news, I just heard the basement stairs creaking like someone was trotting down them and promptly thought of this thread. Chance has been gone for over 9 months now. We don't have any other animals currently.. And I'm home alone.
Maybe Chance came by to check up on you. I love hearing stories of animals who passed coming back to visit so I’m going with that.
I'm also hoping it was Chance. Those were "his" stairs (he spent a lot of time down in J's basement office) and it completely startled me because it 100% sounded like him. Maybe he was checking to see if the couch was free to sit on....lol.
The students are back on campus and it seems the commotion has stirred things back up in our building.
One of our housekeepers (J) came to get me this morning because he heard a really loud thud around 6am, before the building is open to students and faculty. Our coworker (C) has a tall room divider in her office, it was knocked completely over but nothing else was disturbed in surrounding rooms. We didn't have an earthquake or anything either. This is the same office that J has heard the door shaking like someone was trying to get out. He opened the door and said it felt like someone hissed in his ear. Another day I went to get C to see if she wanted to go to lunch and after I knocked on the door and heard movement from the other side but no one was in there.
J also had issues this morning with the motion sensors messing up and flickering on and off while he was cleaning backstage. One of our tech directors said she notices an increase in spooky stuff back by her office when we are having a lot of events happening in the building.
