Okay so heres my idea: Moms (and anyone who wants to add) make a post here with your fav products. Baby, older kid, whatever. You can update your post with additions when you find them. Then, we have an all encompassing guide to the best of the best. Each person has one post they edit like the movie challenge threads. Want to see what Tot uses to clean her shit? Cool find her post. Want to see all the sunscreen reqs- skim on through! Feel free to be fancy and add links (bonus points for you if its a chicken amazon link). Shampoo/Body wash- Dove for sensitive skin Stroller/Car toy- O’ball arch Prenatal- I like the NatureMade Multi + DHA. Easy to take and never had any issues with stomach problems on it. Baby socks- Trumpette! Listen baby socks are kinda dumb but these stay on pretty well and they are stupid cute Current fav toys- the xylophone by fisher price Books- Stephen Savage Super Truck, Goodnight Goodnight construction site, Llama Llama Red Pajama Diaper bag- We have been using the JuJuBe Be Right Back and use some quicks and a set for inserts to stay organized. I like the front parent pocket and basically use it as my purse. We also have the Be Prepared for long trips in the car. Spot cleaner- Dreft LISTEN HERE- this shit is magic. Dropped a strawberry on your baby? No problem. Kid shit on your new white sweater? No problem! I use All free and clear for regular degernet but Dreft stain cleaner is witchcraft and I love it. Diapers- Honest Wipes- Seventh Generation (honest feel thin and babyganic too) I’ll update my post to include more later but I bet the more experienced moms have more fav products.
If everyone thinks this is dumb it can get deleted but I constantly want to ask best sunscreen, best blah blah so I thought this would be handy
This thread is making me realize how few baby specific things I own lol. I do enjoy the WELEDA Calendula body wash. It’s been great for Ms sensitive skin.
Shampoo/body wash - Live Clean Baby (pretty much love their entire line of baby products) Diaper rash treatment - Aveeno Oatmeal bath Spot and stain remover - Buncha Farmers stain remover stick Nursing needs: - Lansinoh lanolin - Bravado nursing bras and camis Breast milk storage bags: Nuk or Kiinde On-the-go diapering: JJ Cole diaper clutch
Nappy/diaper cream. Child’s farm. I’m not sure if it’s available in America as well but it’s fantastic. Also their has been lots of hype about their baby moisturiser curing eczema in adults.
Love this idea! This shall be my post. Nursing pillow - My Brest Friend Stroller - Thule Urban Glide 1
Second that, that pillow is amazing! I don’t think I’d have breast fed successfully without it. It’s top of my list for if I have another child.
Lotion- Curel Itch Defense Diaper Cream- Triple Paste Remover of a Multitudinous Variety of Sins- Resolve Foaming Cleaner
Nursing stuff: My Brest Friend pillow This lactation cookie recipe Lansinoh lanolin Using a sports bra with holes instead of a pumping bra because I'm cheap Car seats Infant: graco click connect Convertible: safety first from Sam's Club Babywearing Maya wrap ring sling Infantino sash mei tai/beh dai Kinderpack for older kids Books Happiest baby/ toddler on the block How to talk so little kids will listen
Medela lanolin. I know everyone has a kind they swear by, but this was the ONLY one that helped for the first few months. Product I didn't know I needed: burp cloths. I just kind of put them away thinking "whatevs". Nope. I had one with me at all times during maternity leave. Frozen breast milk in one of those self-feeder pops for teething. For stains: Oxyclean powder. I throw that shit in every load of laundry.
Emergency manual pump: Hakaa manual. Only 1 part to clean Baby bottles: Comotomo Baby clothes: Target’s reverse zip footies (I think the brand’s Cloud Island right now) Diapering needs: JJCole diaper clutch. I don’t really use diaper bags anymore, just this Weighted straw cup: Zoli Bot Baby carrier: nothing specific, but if one’s local to you go to a Babywearing International meeting before baby arrives. You can borrow carriers and get advice on the best carrier for your body Baby book: “Be Prepared” by Gary Greenberg. It’s funny, concise, and I liked it better than Mom books
Toys for 1 year olds: Early phase of 1: Buckle Toys (it’s a brand) Stacking cups 18+ Months: Duplos Water Wow (lifesaver when we go out to eat)
@Afishwish did Cloud Island replace Circo? The Circo reverse zippers were my favorite sleepers for S. I just ordered a hakaa pump yesterday!
@Tumnus yeah, I’m beginning to think they have an annual brand. In two years I’ve seen these branded as “Circo”, “Baby Cat & Jack”, and “Cloud Island” The Hakaa does take a bit of getting used to. When I first got it I was lucky if I got an ounce from it. Within a week or so I was able to get 3-5 ounces, usually from one side. My one bit of advice is try to get a letdown going first and the pump should be relatively comfortable when you attach it.
I too LOVE the Trumpette socks, @whatchyagonnado -Bamboobies nursing pads with a shelf nursing cami=me every day. -Lansinoh lanolin nipple cream -Milkies Milk Catcher -Brooklyn Bamboo baby washcloths -Cloud Island flannel baby blankets used for a head support while nursing and burping cloths -Costco wipes, also loved Water Wipes. Huggies wipes can go to hell -Puj foldable baby tub. It was given to us secondhand and I thought it was silly. But we use it in the kitchen sink allll the time and love it. -Baby Blue Giraffe nail file
Well shit, I just bulk-bought Huggies wipes because Amazon had a better deal on them than my usual Pampers.
I feel like anyone who is a loyal Costco wipes user says this about all wipes, lol. (And you can put me in that category.)
Might have just been the box we got! I just found them super dry. I loveeeeee Water Wipes for that reason.
Huggies wipes hater here too. But I don't hate Amazon wipes, and everyone does (though I've really only used them for hands and faces), so that probably nullifies my opinion.
Yes on Water Wipes. Even different brands of sensitive wipes would irritate Fry after a few days or weeks of use. Once we started using Water Wipes his skin got way better.
we've used amazon wipes since day 1 but just switched to Aldi's brand. i really like them and feel like they're actually cleaning him rather than wetly smearing shit around, lol.
