Today's projections slides.
They are predicting Alberta will hit its peak in mid-May if we continue on the same path with public health orders and social distancing in place (expected to be at least until the end of May). Then slowly start to relax the orders afterwards to prevent another peak.
Canada still has a good chance to get through this relatively unscathed but we need to stay home as much as possible.
...what is MY supposed to be?
That does track
That must be MA, but I don’t understand how that could be a typo or a brain fart.
ETA: Nope. MA is listed too. I have no clue.
Maryland, I think. There is a MA for Mass. They also used PN vs. PA for Pennsylvania.
Lol you know some hopeful Oregonian wrote this. Sorry you aren’t legit at hockey.
Canada doesn't want us.
I didn’t want to be the one to say it, but...
jk the chickens can come.
But this was definitely made by a hopeful American, not a Canadian haha.
We could offer Target as an incentive.
I love that MI is included. Logically I think the UP should belong to Canada.
Srsly how else are they going to be unbeatable at hockey.
Better bring Trader Joe's too or no deal.
I am totally on board with this
It may be my severe lack of sleep the last few days, but this has been cracking me up. For context, earlier this week Trudeau noted that masks are to prevent you from “speaking moistly” onto others, then immediately went “what a terrible image”
tw: the word moist
I love this so much. You can see that as soon as it left his mouth he had immediate regrets hahaha. But he’s under a ton of stress right now so really, can’t fault the guy for that hilarious misspeak.
The look on his face as we all collectively cringed Rooster makes fun of me for hating that word, but I was like look, even JT knows what’s up
@yesmaster have you been watching the news today? Are you as tired of these fucking circles as I am?
Yes! I don't understand how anything thinks this is a magic solution. If the idea is to ticket anyone who isn't in a circle or "moving through the park" won't that just mean that people will start walking whenever they seen law enforcement? Sort of like the people who park in a wheelchair spot so their passenger can just run into the store quick and think "I'll move the car if a cop comes or someone needs the spot"
Yes! And they keep reporting on them over and over again like these are magic portals to a world without COVID or something and I'm like..... they are just painted circles? Is there no real news?
I do have sympathy for people in tiny downtown condos/apartments with no outdoor space. My brother and his wife are both working from home in about 500 square feet. I get that it is easy for me to sit in judgement of people in parks when I can step out my back door and relax in a private (yet small) yard.
There are SO MANY outdoor spaces in Toronto though. If the park near you is busy, keep walking and see if you can find somewhere less crowded. Or just don't stop at all, just go for a walk. That is what my brother and sister in law are doing. That, and bike rides.
The circles won't mean anything to the people who gathered at TBP last weekend. They weren't respecting the 6 feet rule then and a circle isn't going to change that. John Tory was there for Christ's sake.
