I’ve gotten Xiomen and not Botox specifically but it usually takes me a few days to see the difference. I typically don’t need it again for 6-8 months but I’m currently sitting at 10 months and reallllllly want to go back for it (the lines are back in full force) but don’t have the money. Ugh.

Ugh. I cannot wait to see how/if it works.

It totally works, I love it. I’m getting my next round on Monday.

@HBC How much do you get, and how much does it cost? The administering doc is my friend and did it for cost + rewards points via her med spa, so it was $450. She did the furrow/frown line between my eyebrows (my primary concern), like a zillion "microdoses" all around my brow bone and nonexistent crow's feet (for a mini brow lift), then another zillion shots all through the three horizontal lines over the frontalis.

I can't remember what she told me re: dosage. I was pretty drunk. She had "50" written down. Is that units or ml or are those the same? I dunno.

    Not the same as mL.

I get 20-25 units. It runs me 10-12 dollars per unit at my regular dermatologist. My targeting is the horizontal lines across my forehead and a little bit between my brows both to help prevent 11s and to keep my brows from pulling funny where the cooperating muscles are paralyzed.

If you want I can text you pictures of one of my progresses. I have a day of and a day 3 still.

I’ve never paid over $225 but I only get my main forehead done to target horizontal lines that are setting in. I think it’s about 20 units or so but I go in when she’s running 20% off specials. Xiomen may be a cheaper option possibly? Your body supposedly doesn’t build the resistance to it like it will to Botox eventually.

My derm offered me a choice between all three (Botox, dysport, xiomen) and told me which she recommends for which concerns (based on how far they spread and how precise the results are for each) and I picked the one she recommended for my specific wants. I really like my derm (but she overfills her upper lip and that drives me nuts)

I meant for @TaterTot if she thought the Botox was too expensive - could be worth asking about possibly.

I get 12 units, for my crows feet. 3 injection sites on each side. It takes the full 2 weeks for me to see a difference. And I’m beyond ready for my next appointment, it’s been 9 months.

Sigh. My Botox is bad. I look like Jack Nicholson. She’s coming over this morning to assess. This’ll be a hard pass next time, and I don’t think I want that free chemical peel either.

Maybe next time, do you think you could try a different provider and just keep mum about it to her?

    Yes, I definitely could.

I cannot even tell you how much I trust(ed?) this woman -- her brain, her practice, her insane perfectionism, her kindness, her friendship. Like ... I feel soooooooooooooo foolish. Or like maybe this cosmetic stuff is not for me. I should just age into obscurity and wear my sex mask in public 24/7.

I don’t see why you can’t have the Botox AND the sex mask.

I’m so sad for you too. I really really love my Botox. I look younger than my almost 8 years younger brother because of it! I wanted that for you too

 I wanted to love it. I thought I would!

I hope this can be easily corrected. I don't want to keep my social engagements for today because of it.

It’s not that bad but I can totally see why you’re disappointed. Hopefully she knows what’s up and can fix it, but I definitely second the see someone else next time, and be sure to tell them your specific concerns.

Oh no. I would also go see someone else, I’ve never had that kind of experience. I’m sorry!

Eeeep. She brought me a bottle of Freakshow cab sauv (lol, savage), acknowledged it didn't look right, and said these touchups/tweaks are normal for a first time as my body and she figure each other out. Shrug. She didn't love doing a correction after six days instead of 14, but she also realizes I cannot look like this for Christmas. I'd rather be frozen than Spock!

    Pray for my forehead, y'all.

@TaterTot i finally bought that PFB roll on stuff, primarily for bikini area. I bought the vanish formula. I've been using it for about a week and I've noticed that I havent really had any new razor burn/bumps/ingrowns which is awesome. Do you remember how long it took to clear up the older spots? I'm wondering if it's always just going to be dark around my hair follicles. Ive been using it on my pits too. Stuff burns like a mofo after shaving though. Should I still apply it if I didn't shave? Trying to be Florida ready in about a month (if if will even be warm enough for a swimsuit, but if not we still have family waterpark trip in early March)

I apply it all the time but do not have super sensitive skin. I am not sure. A bottle lasts me about five months and definitely before the first one ran out I was seeing decent lightening! Not sure if it will return once I stop?...

@Apples&Oranges @TaterTot I am super interested in this, can one of you post or send me the link? My bikini line is incredibly sensitive and I’m always trying new products and nothing really ever helps.
