Hugs, CW. I’m so sorry your family is going through this.
Oh CW my heart sank to hear that. I am so, so sorry and I hope he starts to improve quickly. I dont pray, but I'm praying for you guys. So much love and healing to C2
Oh CW, . I hope they can get it figured out and that he starts improving soon. Sending love to you guys.
I am so sorry CW. I hope he starts doing better really soon.
I'm so sorry for C2'S struggles and the strain on you and your family. I hope he shows big improvements soon.
It’s NEC again. 5 days after his last antibiotics for the first time. Another 10 days of no feeding and antibiotics. He looks bad right now, but he is more responsive than he was yesterday.
I’m sorry. Answers are good, but I hoped for better answers for you. May he have quick improvement.
Sending you so much love CW
I hope he responds well to the antibiotics and heals up. Sending you so much love and prayers.
Oh, man. I’m sorry to hear that.
Kind of expected and totally understandable but how do you tell a parent they can’t see their own child for no one knows how long. I haven’t even talked with D yet (he must be busy) but there’s just no good way to manage a house, a kid, a sick NICU baby and WFH when only one of you can visit the NICU.
Ugh what an awful situation for you guys. I hope C2 responds well to this next round of antibiotics and starts feeling better ASAP. Do the minimum to get through life right now. Let the cleaning go (minus the obvious disinfecting and dishes), do basic laundry and cooking to survive, do the minimum work needed, and focus on your kiddos. They are what matter most. Don’t feel bad if everything else slips or goes undone for a while
Is D WFH?
I'm so sorry CW That is SUCH a hard ask, even if it's the right thing.
Yeah, he has been. Thankfully.
I'm sorry friend. Its awful that this is what it has come to, to keep folks safe.
C2 is getting better again. He still has 6 days of antibiotics before they’ll think about feeding him, but he looks better, and is acting more like himself. Today he got extubated and went back on the CPAP. He had to get some pain meds to finally settle (he HATED the tube), but now he’s snoozing hard.
He was 8 weeks old yesterday, 35 wks. Time both flies and doesn’t move here. He’s big enough to have his isolette open, wear clothes (when he doesn’t have NEC), and get more oxygen. If he weren’t sick he might be bottle feeding by now (his mouth is still nowhere near the size of my nipples, lol). He gained and lost and gained a bunch of weight (well, like the same 100g), but he’s right around/above 3.5lb. Preemie size clothes are still huge on him, but he looks more like a real baby with a couple little rolls filling in his loose skin. He might go home on oxygen, but that’s manageable.
That's great news @CoolWife !
Great update! I hope he continues to improve!
That brought tears to my eyes, so glad to hear all that.
I am so happy to hear that. You guys are going through hell right now and I hope you guys get some reprieve soon. I wish you guys nothing but good news and progress going forward!
So happy to hear that, go C2!
Also tearing up over here! Sending you all good vibes towards him continuously improving!
That’s wonderful CW
