Listen there’s never an excuse for those kinds of comments. How are people still doing this?! Wtf lady. I hope her mortification keeps her from ever making that mistake again.

I feel you on normally not giving a fuck but then feeling unexpectedly kind of shitty though. Generally I just DGAF because like you said, I carried and birthed and fed a child so if my body changed as a result, so be it. But damn if jeans shopping last week didn’t have me almost in tears. Ugh.

Damn that’s harsh. I’m sorry deet. No one should ever assume like that. I’m definitely concerned I’m going to have this baby pooch forever. All you can do is exercise and eat well. But maybe seeing a PT could help too. Hopefully your doctor can give you a good idea of how to help.

Ugh fuck her. Even if someone is pregnant let them tell you lady!
Ain't that the truth! It's hard but ultimately is the best thing for a lot of people, well done you.

Sorry deet  I know the feeling, as Ive been offered seats on the train before :/ just today a kid insisted there was a baby in there, but I give preschoolers a pass (still sucks though).

Thanks guys. I am in the worst mood today.

fuck my period and fuck the scale.

I really just want to crawl in a hole and not see anyone!

Hugs deet. Your period is probably hurting the scale situation. I feel you though. The scale can be a mindfuck especially after a comment like that.

I should've left it alone. I know it's water weight - I have been so diligent, there's no way I ate that many calories and gained weight.

BUT LOGIC IS OUT THE WINDOW TODAY. :bird:

Oh lord I've had this exact thing. Up a couple pounds one day, down a few pounds the next, you're never just one weight, more like a range. (Like, weigh yourself before and after you pee to see how crazy the difference can be minutes apart.)

@deet I think it was you who was interested to see what period pain relief options my RE came up with. These are endometriosis specific so not sure if they’ll be helpful for you.

unfortunately the narcotic pain meds aren’t really an option anymore for chronic pain (as I understand it). Sucks because while I absolutely understand and respect the need to limit these drugs I genuinely use them so infrequently I still think that would be a good option for me. But alas.

My RE had two suggestions, neither of which are safe for use while breastfeeding. Orilissa and/or Lupron. Since I’ll be doing a frozen embryo transfer soon I’m skipping the Orilissa and instead doing 2 months of Lupron which should calm down the endometriosis in preparation for a transfer. A fringe benefit of that would be pain relief (hopefully). I’ve done it before and it wasn’t anything like 100% but I did get some relief. My best treatment so far has been pregnancy/breastfeeding so I’m hoping to get pregnant again ASAP. So I’m planning to wean in March, do 2 months of Lupron immediately after, and then move right into IVF.

Interesting! Thank you! I did make my OB appt - it's a month from now. I have no idea if this is a thing, but I am almost wondering if exercise has helped with my period overall. The past 2 months have been markedly better than they have been. I am not sure I would label this "chronic pain" but I just know that on the first and second day of my period, I take a lot of motrin and it's dulling the pain, but barely... and it is so hard to get through my days.

@A. Ham to backtrack to this comment, what the absolute FUCK. I lost like three lbs immediately, then it went back up. I have stayed very consistent (calories included), I added in another (HORRIBLE, MIGHT I ADD, BC IT'S CIRCUIT TRAINING) workout -- so four days of working my ass off -- and I lost a lb in 2 weeks after gaining 2 back. All the reading I am doing is about more blood circulating, add'l water weight bc my body is in shock or something and it should subside. And OMG BUT DO YOU FEEL GOOD, BC IF YOU FEEL GOOD THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS.

No. I need the numbers on the scale to go down, fuck off. Lol.

@deet oh yeah it's a slog. There aretimes it feels like theres no rhyme or reason to it. It's definitely not linear. Everything you've said I've said and more lol.

@deet are you doing your measurements? You may see more of a change that way. Do bust, waist, hips, thighs, and biceps.

When I’ve lost weight in the past and I’ve been working out a lot, loss seemed to go in 3 month chunks. Nothing, nothing, nothing, then suddenly a few pounds.

I agree measurements can also help. If you’re building muscle the scale might not be going down but you still can be getting leaner.

OMG yes do measurements. It helps. One month I lost 5 pounds and no difference in measurements, the next month my body measured a lot smaller although weight was the same. They don't always line up.

I feel like I looked different in my gym clothes at class today. But maybe that's wishful thinking, ha! I need to measure :)

Even just taking pictures can be really helpful to let you see differences that you don't notice since you see yourself everyday.

Postpartum sex: when does it stop hurting? I had a c-section so no vaginal injury or trauma. But damn it just hurts so much. It’s not even enjoyable.

I had that issue until I weaned. Until then, lube was the only thing that made it somewhat enjoyable.

As long as I nursed, sex in general was neither mentally or physically fun.

@Afishwish I’m starting to think that’s the issue. My sex drive is literally non-existent and the few times I’ve tried to get through it, it hurts like a bitch. I’m not ready to wean though so I guess I won’t be having sex for a while.

I’m still nursing E at 14 months and I think I can count on one hand how many times we’ve had sex. None of them have been pleasant for me.
