@Kimmers @Honey I’m usually in between sizes, should I go up or down?
Yea boots or sneakers only. My feet feel so claustrophobic in socks, I hate it! Granted we don’t get a real winter here but if my feet get cold I just use a blanket.
I have no tolerance for cold. I don’t wear socks or anything with ballet flats, which are what I mostly wear to work for majority of the school year, but like November-March I’m mostly wearing boots or sneakers. I don’t like having cold feet for the 10-15 minutes I’m outside at 8am waiting for my students to get off the bus. I also like socks for the movies, any time I’m going to be out after sunset, and sometimes around the house.
I would size up. I’m usually anywhere from a 9 to a 10, and I got a 10 and it’s perfect, even in my size 9 shoes.
@Vespidae These are much better than the Aldo ones in my opinion. They stand up better to frequent washings. I bought a bunch November 2017, use them constantly, and they’re all still going strong. My Aldo ones started to peel on the bottom and slowly fell apart.
I tried shoe liners so many times but my heels are weirdly sized/shaped and they always make my shoes too slippy. I love ballet flats with no socks though, I agree it feels much better than socks anyway.
I wear socks in my boots in winter, in running shoes (hello blisters, no thanks) and big knitted socks around my house when it’s cold. Otherwise, no socks in flats or dress shoes. I also wear slippers around my house, usually sock free.
I haaaate socks and slippers, and usually take my socks off when I get home and put on slippers.
But I have a whole drawer full of plain black socks and nude hose bc I’m boring AF and that’s easier than trying to match and make sure my socks don’t show on the wrong day.
Yeah, slippers and socks are definitely a no go for me, I don't feel the softness of the slippers with socks. I also usually wear socks if it is cold or I am too lazy to take my socks off. Like I am wearing these cute cactus socks right now. Those are really my only pair of cute socks, my brother has better pairs of socks than me, most of my socks are black and white and boring
I live in sneakers, so socks are a must. I do have some boring ones for running, but most of them are pretty or funny or at least colorful.
When at home or in ballet flats, no socks. Hate the feel of them when I dont have shoes on. I've also shamed P out of wearing them to bed except in the meat locker that is his childhood bedroom.
That's why you have a designated feet blanket under the sheets. I cocoon my feet if the room is cold. Socks in bed are a never.
Do you actually?
lol of course. I cant stand being cold in bed.
It’s warm here most of the year but my feet get cold. I wear flats or sandals lots of the time and no socks. I have boot socks and some others for when I wear boots or booties in the winter and a half a drawer of running socks.
I also hate having cold feet in bed. C is a heater. I just wait for him to doze off then take advantage of the heat. (He’s caught me putting cold feet on him a few times and wasn’t thrilled but also didn’t push me out of bed so .
I’ll try those liners in my flats for sure though! I have a couple of pairs of terry cloth ones that are pretty good but getting worn out.
Since this is the last wknd we will have my SUV, W decided to go through our overstuffed storage closets and gather a carload to put in storage, like Christmas stuff and the TV boxes etc. We also purged a bunch of stuff. It feels good!
We just rented a dumpster for our packing process. We will donate a lot too, but I'm so excited to get the "crap" out of our lives.
I would really like to KonMari my life (as a long term goal lol) since my excuse before was not having any time to focus on it. We have so much junk!! I’m super overwhelmed. I need to get J on board too.
I'm in the mood to throw everything away. We are house sitting for the neighbors and I keeping going into their nice home and its decorated and painted and just feels more homey than my own home even though they have 2 kids also. But we just have too much clutter. 5 people in a 3 bedroom apartment (and honestly the 3rd bedroom is more like an office in size). And our Jeff Goldblum damn rail road-esque layout. But first, getting rid of everything I can. Then, house decor thread, I'm coming for you!
We spent a good chunk of the afternoon moving things around. We no longer have a guest bed in our house. It’s gone to the newly acquired storage unit. I’m not really thrilled about having a storage unit but there’s stuff I want out now but we will likely need again in 3-5 years and it’s cheaper to store than if we will need to purchase stuff again. The office/library/guest room is now an office/library/playroom/decluttering staging ground.
The bassinet is disassembled and will be going to storage. About 6 months later and our bedroom is pretty much back to how it’s always been. I’m happy and sad about this.
Next up: shredding years of bank statements.
Well I didn't exactly Kondo today, but I organized our closet and made B go through his dresser. We donated a few big bags of stuff, threw out a few things that were languishing in the basement, and I re-arranged C's room a little bit. All my to-dos for winter break have been crossed off!
@Imabug1002 here you go, this is a safe space hahaha
I cleaned out our shop and garage today and prepped the kitchen for our new island. It was supposed to be delivered yesterday but they held it for adverse weather (it was raining ) I wanna build my island! I also reorganized A’s closet and hopefully he's getting rid of a ton of stuff today or tomorrow
I Kondo-fied my closets and most of my dresser the other day, all I have left to go through is bras, underwear, and leggings. But also I have some bags of clothes which aren’t going to fit again for a while that I wanted out of the way but to keep, so I need to find somewhere to stash those...
