Where all my Midwest chickens at?

We don't get a lot of play on the national scene, but I'm cool with that. We're great. We know we're great. We don't need everyone else to know we're great to know we're great. Ya meam?

I have a feeling there are going to be more city-specific threads springing up, but the Midwest cohort seems on the small side? A few Wisconsinites, I believe, but anyone else in MSP?

Oh yay! One of my very good friends grew up in Omaha. I grew up in Wisconsin but went to the University of Minnesota for school and never left. I've been here over 10 years now. #oldballs #looseskin

I just love the Twin Cities. They are so my speed and so friendly. It never feels overwhelmingly busy, but we're big enough that the restaurant scene is great and most major shows/concerts come through.

After my weekend in Chicago, I was amazed at how friendly Midwesterners are. Hint: compared to New Englanders, very.

My brother went to the U! I love the Twin Cities - I was born there. What's your favorite restaurant there?

Born and raised in 'Sconnie NW to be exact. Moved to Brainerd MN for two years and loved it there, and now I'm living in the slums: Iowa. Seriously hate this state with an unnatural passion.

I'm a mid-west immigrant. Yay Omaha. I've been to the MSP area quite a bit for work though, I like it but it was waaayy too cold when I was there in Nov/December.

  9. I've lived in Nebraska most of my life. Unfortunately I'm 45 minutes from the city and about 1.5 hours from Omaha so I have to travel to do anything fun/eat anywhere good.

I grew up on the West Side of Michigan, been on the East Side for 11 years now. Would love to go back west, but, jobs.

Oh boy. I have a few. In St. Paul, Mango Thai (BYOB) and Happy Gnome (wild game poutine and an impressive beer list). In Minneapolis, Cafe Lurcat and Bachelor Farmer. Those are the bigger ones, at least. Obviously I have my own burger, thai, and pizza favorites right in my own little suburban bubble.

I grew up in Indiana, not too far from the Illinois border so we went to Chicago sometimes. Definitely friendlier. I really miss the Indiana Dunes. It's one of my favorite places ever.

Originally from New York, ended up in the Chicago burbs for a few years, moved to Atlanta, western North Carolina and now in Madison. The Midwest is a bit suburbish for my preference, but overall, I like it. I miss Atlanta though, especially when the weather starts getting cold.

I'm going to hope that's northwest Indiana and not like, Iowa. Because, me too! Was born in Hammond but moved around a few times after my parents divorced.

Northwest Indiana. I was born in Munster, but my fam is from Hammond. It's so ghetto out there now.

Uh, yes! I'm actually in a wedding today, there's snow falling and the bride paid extra money to have the wedding outside in the gazebo at the lodge we're at. Guess who is wearing a short dress in 46 degree weather? Good thing she's my best friend and I love her because it's going to be cold.

Definitely time for some pre-wedding hot cocoa with schnapps. Or cider with captain.

I know I'm the only TC chicken, but OMJG. Amazon started collecting sales tax in Minnesota starting October 1, and I was like oh hellllll naw.

But "retail analysts said the most likely reason is that Amazon is quietly building a distribution center from which to roll out same-day delivery in the Twin Cities."

    OH HELL YES.

BRB. Have to go change my panties. This pair is soaked.
