Lol bald Billy Joel or cotton ball hair Billy Joel?
I think you make that call once she's here.
This reminds me that I need to ask the neighbors if this block gets trick or treaters. It was overwhelming at our last apartment so I’m hoping we get some but not like, hundreds in an hour.
We’ll be at Universal for Halloween Horror Nights again, so won’t be home for trick or treaters (which is a bummer because we will be in our house by then in a real neighborhood, not an apartment complex) - we will probably go out the weekend before though so maybe need to start thinking about it.
So far G has declared he wants to be: a witch, Hulk, vampire (with blood)
The past two Halloweens I've been recovering from a stomach bug, so hoping we can actually dress C up with the intention of taking him somewhere this year.
My bestie is going to be Hal Johnson and I’m going as Joanne McLeod, so I’m already hunting for the perfect windbreaker and pants combo. Maybe they were only a Canadian thing but I’m excited! Keep fit and have fun!!
Ideas for simple group (2 women, 3 men) costumes for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween? J is the only one that needs convincing, he says he will dress up as a tourist MIL, FIL, BIL are all in. Would need to fit in backpacks that we can change into after dinner.
Just decided to make our housewarming party a Halloween party that last Saturday in October. Post your favorite Halloween decorations and party ideas please, we have literally nothing and I’m getting overwhelmed with the amount of expensive options.
@Erie Dirt pudding cups with gummy worms. That’s the one thing that really sticks out from the awesome Halloween party I went to 9 years ago.
I like the look of fake cobwebs, and I *think* they’re not terrible for the environment as long as you use them inside only.
Yes, please don’t use the fake cobwebs outside! Bees get caught in them and die and we really don’t need bees dying on us.
I'm hosting as well @Erie and I get a lot of my decor from the dollar store to be honest. They actually have some neat stuff; the fake cobwebs, caution tape, tattered cloths. This was from last year. The flowers have eyeballs
I also had some bleeding candles
@Erie bloody bar! Get a bunch of liquor bottles, mix up various bloody mary and maria concoctions (different flavor profiles), and label them by spiciness (A+, B-, O, etc.). Check out my Insta for a photo a few years back.
Also, themes can be fun for Halloween parties. One of my faves was a gothic cocktail party. The costumes were amazing.
Thanks everyone! Will definitely hit up the dollar store @Aw Pigley i appreciate that tip!!
@Zombie Llama I don’t think many of our friends like bloody Mary’s :/ but that’s a great idea! I am requiring costumes but not theming it since we will probably go out to bars later that night and don’t want to limit anyone’s Halloween costumes on the big weekend night for Halloween lol.
K and I are going to go as Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler from Jurassic Park and put Winnie in a Dino costume.
I’ve been waiting years to just fucking do it, but I’m gonna do Bob Wiley when he first sets sail. I can’t go another year, even if no one gets it.
@Erie I like this shirt:
This purse is on sale today for $8.50 if any Chickens are into it:
I just ordered a plague doctor mask and I'm super excited about it
I'm going to give this a try for some decor and I thought of @Erie
That’s not how you cook black beans
What if you're just sacrificing them to the underworld?
Why not coffee beans? At least they'll warm up a little and smell nice.
