This year Halloween falls on a Friday, woo! Every previous Halloween I've been too slow at getting my act together and finding a costume. I'm patting myself on the back for ordering mine in August this time. It's a green dinosaur onesie, with a tail and everything. I hope it gets here soon! What are my chickens planning for their costumes?

I have NO idea. We'll be in Austin partying it up on the street downtown - don't know if I should plan for Halloween or not.

No idea. Am I at the age yet where I can get away with wearing the same costume every year, because I have a great outfit down and I'd really prefer to just rewear it!
Also we're going to a show the night before on Thursday and I'm debating dressing up for that, too.

Edit: no idea what we're doing, either. Previously one of R's friends threw this dope annual Halloween party, but they just moved so I don't know if it's still happening.

What's the outfit droid? If I had a great costume I would totally rewear it. I'm hoping the dinosaur costume will be my go-to every year.

    I have a few options.

    1. R2D2 - I have a toque, tank and will either buy silver leggings or wear black leggings and a silver sparkle skirt.

    2. Minion - we are potentially doing a group costume of minions for work (our finance manager has agreed to be Gru and is talking about getting a fake nose lol!)

    3. Maleficent - I'm ordering this one from Hot Topic, and as we all know, I love all things Maleficent.

Now I don't know if I have enough events to wear these all to, but we'll see. Regardless, I will be wearing my R2D2 toque all winter.

Damnit, I forgot I also ordered an Optimus Prime costume from Zulily. Decisions, decisions.

Damn mega, you are like the doomsday prepper of Halloween! All of those costumes sound amazing. The Gru/Minions plan is excellent!

It's this Betsey Johnson sweater dress:

I've worn it for at least 3 Halloweens since I got it ~4 years ago, it's sexy but doesn't show too much and is a cozy sweater so I don't have to freeze!

I usually pair it with a colorful wig and one year I did Dia de Los Muertos sugar skull face paint.

I have a very close friend who is crazy about Halloween and essentially dictates a group costume every year. Last year we were the Archie Gang (I was Betty) and all costumes were very detailed. This year I think we are going as Star Wars characters.

We haven't gone to a Halloween party in years! A told me she wants to be Hermione and I'm hoping B will be Malfoy.

I should, yes. But they didn't have one and the Prime costume looks awesome (that is not me lol)

Oh droid, love that, which reminds me - I also bought some radioactive skeleton legging and a tshirt from inknburn (it's athletic apparel), which I will wear running and to dance class when it arrives!

ETA: and a pair of robot capris. FML. I'm addicted to shopping.

Last year I went as an infected sick zombie coughing up blood ala the walking dead episode that premiered around that time. I try and do homemade costumes with little purchasing if possible. This year I was already thinking I need ideas since we just confirmed our group party is going down.

Last year, I was Hawaiian Punch - I had a grass skirt, lei, and boxing gloves. The year before that, I was a Freudian Slip - blush slip with "transference," "Oedipus complex," and similar words hand-written on it.

    ....I like puns.

Ahoy! We are likely going to be The Flinestones - Fred, Wilma, and Pebbles. P sews our costumes every year, but we have a very busy fall, TTR (lawl). So, figured it would be a quick, easy, and cute family costume. Besides, Oats Jr. just *is* Pebbles Flinestone.

I think this will be the first year we will actually get trick-or-treaters, since we will be duplex dwellers, in a very kid-centric, residential neighborhood. Super stoked about that. We'll probably take Lil P to a few houses and local businesses in the village/downtown near our new house. Otherwise, after the kid is asleep, we'll be doing our annual tradition of scary movies, hard cider, and jack-o-lantern pizza.

We usually go all out for Halloween but we will be getting back from our wedding just a week or so before it...sadly the wedding has really eclipsed Halloween planning for us. We used to do a bar crawl in DC every year but have grown out of it. Not sure what we will do this year!

No plans here. Patrick's coworker is having a Halloween party, but it's the weekend before Halloween and we are in Cabo then. I don't really dress up anyway though because I'm a lame-o. Last year I wore a t-shirt from target with a candy corn on it that says, "Give me some sugar" but yeah other than that I don't really dress up.

I'll be at work, might do a subtle vampire with coloured contacts, pale foundation, and those tooth cap fangs. I wanted to do a fun makeup with the OCC Technopagan lip tar, but thought it might be a bit much to get away with at work.

I'll toss on my witch hat. Unless I find my cat ear headband. Either way, both are worn with a black dress and black tights. I'm so boring.
I'm all Halloween-ed out. So many years of dressing up in full costume has done me in. Maybe once we have kids, I'll dress up again. But for the near future? It's a black dress with either a witch hat or cat ears.

Shake, I love pun costumes. I may steal. Several years ago I saw a girl dressed as a "one night stand" (she wore a box around her midsection decorated to look like a nightstand, with the number 1 on it) and drunk Fitz thought it was the funniest she'd ever seen.
