When we moved into our apartment it was made crystal clear that they had a hard NO PETS policy. We had our rats at the time and eventually had to rehome them, which killlllled me. I loved those little rats so much. Anyway, after our on-site PM passed away and the new one moved in, all the complex rules have gone to shit. The new PM is awful (I’m sure you all remember our flood drama) and just doesn’t give a shit about anything. Recently we’ve noticed that there are at least four tenants with pets now! Birds, cats, and a dog! These are tenants that have lived here for quite awhile too.

I really don’t want to be that person and rat them out to the main office, but like, wtf?! I’d love to know if there was a policy change we weren’t made aware of or if people are just saying fuck it because the on-site is an idiot. *shrug* I’m going to stay in my lane, but I am very BEC about it.

Sorry but I lol’d at this part. On a serious note that sucks and it is completely unfair for other people get to have pets if that’s the policy.

I think one of my neighbors is watching a recording of the game. There are a lot of short bursts of screaming, and he just now started chanting DE-FENSE for 15sec.

We met the new neighbor on the non attached side yesterday and she seems really nice! She's a little old lady and seems to be good friends with the neighbor whose house is attached to ours, and you could tell she was relieved we were repairing the fence on our boundary. She seems keen on things being kept nice which is a HUGE relief after some of the neighbors we've had in our rental flat. The lady attached to us isn't around a lot because she's taking care of her mother but hopefully we'll see her soon.

The village has a reputation for being where a lot of old people live which is true (and nice), but I've also noticed a lot of the little cottages have young people like us with or without little kids. It's a nice combination.

That sounds like our neighborhood @A. Ham. We have some younger people with families and some older folks. It's a good blend.

One of the buildings across from us is a rental with I think 3 or 4 units. Nobody took their the trash to the curb at last garbage day. Two of the cans are knocked over to the side and has been that way for days. I saw a dude walk right past it 2 days ago and he didn't even bother. There have been rats running on the trash too. Uugh. Whyyyy? These are the same people who had a small drinking get together while they only half assed maintained social distancing outside on their steps and porch. CLEAN UP YOUR TRASH.

I took in a delivery so I could meet a neighbor across the street  she's really nice and her babies are super cute. (Same one from overhead thread.) Hopefully once this is all over we can have them over for a bbq or something fun.

OMJG my neighbor is finally mowing her lawn! (it was legit about 1 foot tall at this point).

Also we are looking at "living fence/privacy" options to screen off her yard from our view. Her yard is this abandoned wreck from when her daughter still lived there and nothing has been picked up in years...I mean like random shit just left out to weather in the sun, screen porch in tatters, shed door just open and random crap spilling out everywhere....massive 10 foot "burn" pit filled up 6 feet with branches that haven't been burned in years. Its horrible. And it seems like she only mows once every 2 months.

Currently looking at 10-12 foot tall ornamental grasses to "test" out. We need to do something to keep M in the yard, and we'd also like to actually enjoy our backyard without having to look at the derelict condition of her backyard. We want something low maintenance, provide a privacy screen, and not be super expensive.

    1. A set of neighbors gave us a BBQ chicken, tortillas, and fresh salsa from the market down the street.

    2. We didn’t get around to using the tie-dye kit and white onesies which was meant to be done as a consolation activity for not doing it at my canceled shower. Reed asked some new neighbors with 4ish and 8ish year old daughters if they wanted to do it for us on the sidewalk in front of our house, and they said yes. We also gave them a couple of plain white cotton masks (my MIL bought a bunch for us) to tie dye and keep, and we did a couple of masks and onesies ourselves when they were done. :)

That’s a cute story though. And super nice in the early postpartum days especially.

There's a small group of very loud people outside right now. Laughing and chatting and otherwise being obnoxious at almost midnight. They weren't out there 15 minutes ago, so why now?? Plus all the neighborhood fireworks that have pretty much been nonstop since Memorial Day. Ugh.

I want to close my window and turn on my AC but apparently neighbor is just getting out of- or into- the shower and their window is wide open with no curtain covering it :oops: I don't want to look like a creeper like I was trying to watch. It's SO awkward though. Their bathroom window is directly across from our bedroom window. maybe 10 feet away? I can 100% clearly see straight into it. And sometimes hear things.... And I really don't want to. Just keep your blinds down

I am so glad our only bathroom window faces my best friend’s house. Even if I have a brain fart and forget, she’s the only victim

Our neighbor was kind enough to call us last night and warn us that a coyote had chased their schnauzer in the backyard. It’s something we always know to be careful of, but damn I didn’t know the coyotes were getting brazen.
