That's so annoying. Why can't people stfu??
I have a rather pleasant update to Purple and neighbor dog (who has tried to go after her on more than one occasion). Neighbor is finally going to put a collar on the dog when she goes out back. She is also going to bring the dog to classes run by the dog's rescue organization, so my guess is that she doesn't just have issues with Purple.
That is great news!!
We knew Purple was in the clear. Glad that she sees it too.
So rude of our downstairs neighbors to have an argument but not shout loud enough for us to eavesdrop
Blockhead is playing with his Harley. This involves turning it on, letting it idle under the carport for five minutes, turning it off, staring at it for five more minutes, then turning it on again. It sounds great aside from being in a goddamn echo chamber, so I don't know what he could possibly be working on. This has been going on for 90 minutes so far.
We came home yesterday and there was a giant screw wedged in the latch for the outside door so it wouldn't close and lock. We took it out and threw it away. This morning J goes to leave and now there is electrical tape over the latch so it doesn't lock? He took it off and we're going to go to the office and complain because this is ridiculous. There are 6 apartments, 2 per floor and we're on the first floor so if someone gets in that shouldn't (burglar or whatever) then we're the first apartment they get to. Not cool. I think it's the apartment of college kids on the 3rd floor. Their buzzer is going off constantly (including late at night) and they barrel down the stairs like they don't know how stairs work to open the door every time. Unless you're actively moving in or out (or moving in new furniture or something) there is no acceptable reason to prop the door so it doesn't lock.
J went to the office when he came home from work. Whatever they did now to block the door open he can't get undone so maintenance is going to come figure it out/fix it. The office is going to address it with all the apartments and write a report it has been happening so if/when they catch whoever is doing it that it's documented.
Ugh that is such bullshit. I’m sorry.
If I were your property management firm, I would install a camera and charge the culprits for the damage and camera (cause they will do it again despite the camera). But I am a petty bitch.
That would be fantastic if they did! We’ll probably just get a strongly worded email or note taped to the door.
I would do the same @Zombie Llama so I’ll join you in the petty bitch club.
I actually once did this in a commercial building because a tenant's employees kept destroying the bathroom lock. We back killed them for all the busted locks once we had the camera footage.
Well jeez, some might say that was an overreaction!
Maintenance never came, we got the thing out of the lock so it closed... Propped again this morning so we un-did it. Based on some of the things we found propping it open, we now think it's the guy that is a mechanic/maintenance/handy man of some sort. The last 2 things we pulled out have been the little metal clamps you put around wiring to hold it in place. I'm going to the office today after work since Joey won't let me leave a passive aggressive post it note.
Also, when we were watching TV last night, every time we heard someone come up or down the stairs we would pause it and listen to see if we could hear them putting something there to prop the door.
So I just spent 15 minutes playing with my neighbors’ two year old because he got out of the house and then when the dad finally came out he didn’t even speak to me?
Hopefully he was just too fucking embarrassed to speak.
Oh Jesus. Kids are so sneaky, hopefully he was just embarrassed cause the kid snuck out while he was on the shitter (something my dog has done).
Yeah, that is mortifying. We had something similar happen (wasn't 15 minutes, maybe 3) and got a chain lock way up on the top of the door because of it.
I’m not upset that the kid got out. Kids are fast and their abilities outpace their caution. It’s just rude as heck that he didn’t so much as speak.
Oh for sure. I'd be buying you a gift basket for keeping my kid safe.
My other neighbor is always having to return their maltipoo apparently.
Oh shit this may be a pattern then.
Yeah... another neighbor was just told me the kid was out twice this weekend.
