Our beer was more popular than the wine. We would have had more wine to return if my new husband didn't notice the stockpile and didn't start opening them up to walk around drinking from the bottle. He did this like 3 times because he kept losing the bottle.

@shakespeer the key is if you are allowed to return wine bottles that aren’t opened yet. If so, use a calculator and aim high.

I just realized how little wine we had left over after our wedding.

Do what Canal suggests, or just keep the leftovers like we did.

    Thanks, all!

We are allowed to return wine bottles. I'll probably aim high because we're getting the wine here and while there is a store near the venue, I don't have high hopes for the Wautoma Piggly Wiggly wine selection.

For some reason I have been banned on liking photos on IG and keep getting an error saying I’m banned.

Love that wine drinking photo. So pretty!

Thanks! That was by my brother’s girlfriend who is the legit best thing that’s ever happened to him.

I think I may be the worst MOH ever with all of the cancelled AirBnBs and things I haven't thought of for my sister's bachelorette party, which is this weekend.. Most details are ironed out now but I just remembered... Favors? Do I need them? Probably? It is too late to order anything online if I don't want to pay expedited shipping costs (I think). There are 16 people coming. Do I do a goodie bag similar to those welcome bags for weddings? Something else? Going to try to get to a party supply store tomorrow or Thursday but any ideas Chickens have are much appreciated.

@Fitz big ass bag of dollar tree candy for everyone. They usually have party bags and you can grab all kinds of good brands in there for a dollar. I’d just do that and MAYBE if you feel so inclined small bottles of oj and cheap champagne for a hair of the dog type deal morning after. I think favors are just fun extras, I wouldn’t lay out $$$ for it.

I'd probably buy a case of the mini champagne bottles, tie a ribbon around each bottle, and call it a day.

No favors for a shower (or in general). A round of drinks or apps!

If you want to be extra fancy, you could buy labels and slap something cheesy on them.

Buy everyone the mini champagne bottles and a single size orange juice!

I've never been to a bachelorette that included favors, so I think anything you do is bonus.

I was given a mini hangover kit for a bachelorette that included hair ties, chapstick, breath mints, mini liquor bottle, aspirin, and a penis lollipop. It was cute and definitely cost effective.

You’re all staying together, so buy a jumbo bottle of Advil and some pizza rolls.

I just went to a bachelorette that had a goodie bag favor. My favorite was the Gatorade and Advil. I definitely needed it. She also put in scrunchies and chapstick and some other things. It was very cute. But Gatorade and Advil were so useful

I also just went to one that included favor bags, and the most appreciated items were Advil and travel sized toiletries for the wedding (mouthwash, tums, etc).

I’ve been to a bunch with favor bags and honestly don’t waste the money on them. They’re appreciated in the moment and then it’s just another thing to lug home.

Thank you! My mom got these cute baseball hats and bride squad (ugh but ok mom). I'm bringing pedialyte for everyone and will pick up a big bottle of Advil.

For those of you who had bridal parties, how far out did you ask your people? I have had friends tell me not to ask too early in case you change your mind.

TG and I have decided on who we want though. We are going to have a bigger party that I would liked to have had but what we have landed on makes sense for us. My current thought is to wait until at least March. My brother is getting married in February, so I thought we could wait until that was over and then start moving forward with plans for ours. Does that make sense or should we just get it over with and ask people since we have already decided? Our wedding will be spring 2021

We asked people (a total of 8) basically as soon as we decided, a little over a year out. They were also all basically family and we expected them to be in our lives forever (seems accurate for 7/8).

I feel like if they’re people you care about and not props to you, you’re not likely to change your mind. When we realized we didn’t have to have all men on his side and all women on mine, what we wanted to do just clicked and it was great.

I didn't have a bridal party, but I don't see any reason not to ask now if you know these are lifelong friends (or relatives) that you have no doubt you will want to be in your wedding party.

I would wait until you set a date & at least a general location (if you haven't already) so people known what day they are committing to being in whatever city. Once you have a concrete date, I think you can ask any time you want, but IMO, the more notice, the better.

Oh, yes! I was assuming you had a date and a location/city picked out. If that's not the case, then I'd wait a bit until you are reasonably certain on your plans.

Okay, yes good point. We have a date in mind but it is not set. We are going to start looking at venues in the next few weeks and then once a deposit is down we will start sharing the date with people.

I can't see any reason why we would have a falling out with any of the people we have picked. Half of them are our siblings/siblings-in-law and the other are close friends of more than 10 years.
