@Fitz I also do not like Reeses Pieces.
Despite loving sweetened peanut butter, I also dislike Reese's Pieces. I love peanut butter M&M's though.
We just did a virtual quiz for the village pub. It was good fun but made me miss it a lot haha. The questions were all about the pub itself so I think we did okay but we struggled a bit on the ones about the beer garden because we've only been here since February.
I messaged the landlord after and said it was fun and we missed the pub a lot, and he reassured me they will open again. I think he has other business ventures so hopefully they are propping up this side of things.
Today was a zero day. I stayed up late zoom chatting with friends, and like an overtired toddler, was a temperamental brat the whole day. I blew up at Fry and rooster, cried, and am just generally ashamed of how much I lost it. I exercised and pulled myself out of my funk a bit, but had already detonated on the fam. Rooster’s understandably salty with me, and I feel guilty about not doing more for Fry today. Just trying to salvage what’s left of Thursday and hoping I do a better job tomorrow.
You're allowed a day to be human @Afishwish . You do so much day to day for your family. I'm so glad you got some time for YOU last night.
My mom is a teacher and told me that one kid changed his zoom name to the principal's name and kept joining random classes without video and making teachers nervous.
That. Is. Amazing.
ETA: This is my type of humor, apparently. I just remembered that back in high school, my BFF registered the name of our psychology teacher on AIM and randomly messaged friends/acquaintances with “Why didn’t you register for my AP class?”
My boss's child rallied his whole class to turn off their video and change their names to "Connecting" so she thought they were having connection issues and cancelled the class.
That kid's going places! I mean, once it's safe.
Yep, she's both horrified and impressed.
Mom and I have the same pick up time for groceries this week! We’re going to park next to each other and chit chat!
Of all of the canceled events that pop up on my calendar, this one cuts like a knife.
Ubisoft is giving away their e-tours of Ancient Egypt and Greece for free through the 21st.
I’m so, so lucky that nobody in my circle — both friends and family — is 100% failing to take this seriously. All the drama that’s popped up on my Facebook feed has been from a high school friend of a college acquaintance, or something like that.
But I DO feel like otherwise smart people are slowly starting to make risky decisions. Like, my MIL tells me about trips to the garden center, and one of my closest and smartest friends (who’s an essential worker!) is meeting with her mom and sister soon. It’s hard to hear. Especially since things are slowly opening up again. This puts people in GREATER risk.
A few photos popped up on Reddit recently of our downtown, and it’s been mobbed. Barely any masks present. I miss downtown too, a lot, but. Come on, guys!
I am eating a stupid amount of Buffalo chicken dip and I'm going to follow up it up with ice cream because that will neutralize the hot sauce, right?
Yeah I ran the math and it works
I keep watching this and it makes me happy.
We are so starved for sports and are getting our fix from Jelle's Marble Runs. Thank you, John Oliver, for reminding us about this channel.
Rooster’s been a FaceTiming with my ILs every morning which is good, but today they got on my nerves, my MIL especially. She’s one of those people that listens atrociously but thinks she listens fine, and just sort of talks to fill space. Then there was a moment of unsolicited parenting advice based on something I did (rooster said he was fine with said advice, which annoyed me more). I was in another room and just wanted them to shut up. Idk if I’m just being a stir-crazy grump, or if it’s just after weeks of daily calls they’ll inevitably get on my nerves, or both. I love them, but just didn’t really want to start off the day with an hour long call with them.
OMJG that’s too much. I’d take Fry out for a walk after letting him say hi, but I can’t stand my IL’s talking on the phone.
Lol I was setting up for a Zoom call and my current virtual background is Stockholm (a church as viewed across the water from City Hall) and Olive walked by the camera up close and it looked like a bad B movie with a giant tabby attacking the city.
