They went like 6-7 times last year, so I'm sure they know how it is heat wise  I don't really go outside in North Carolina in the July, so I wouldn't.

I really, really love Disney and even I wouldn’t go right now.

Yeah I am canceling our annual passes next month when they'll process it. Don't want to go until there's a vaccine.

Aren't 2 year olds free? Or is it only under 2? Because I can see that being a reason to go sooner if you want to save some money.

Yes 2 year olds (and older if they look young enough and you feel okay lying, I don’t think they enforce it that hard) are free, but still.

Apparently today is my shitting on Disney day, but if you aren’t local, why on earth would you take an under-2 to Disney? Seems like all of the stress and none of the joy.

So you don’t have to arrange/pay for a babysitter.

They have an older kid who would enjoy it so  not saying I personally would do that, but free admission is definitely a perk when tickets are close to $100/day. At least the lines won't be long. You'll catch COVID instead, but we know how much people seem to care about that.

They do sometimes ask the kids directly how old they are. It’s a good tactic since no 3-4 year old is going to lie about their own age.

@Honey was stressed about this exact thing in Feb since C thought it was HILARIOUS to say he was 3. I was like CHILD you are 2! Don’t be costin mama money!

Going at 2 for free was definitely awesome for us. C ate a ton but it was all free (did lots of buffets so under 3 is free) and he had a blast. Obviously J was mostly along for the ride. We also took C at 18 months and he had a ton of fun then too. We take a pretty laid back approach and really don’t care if we do all kid rides or need to stop for a nap though. I think if its your only disney trip ever its better to wait, but if you are planning to go occasionally the under 3 is free perk is awesome! Our non-covid times plan was to do DL next year so J was about 2 and we only had to pay for 3/4 of us. Idk if they will be “back to normal” even next year though so we shall see.

I’m a dope. I didn’t even think of the older sibling angle even though I was the older child in the scenario (my brother was like 4 or 5, I think, when we went).

The two year old has already been to Disney at least twice. It's definitely not my thing.

People asking me if I have plans or what I'm doing this weekend annoys the shit out of me. There's a global pandemic, I'm staying the fuck home. I get that they're trying to be nice and add in small talk so it's not all work meetings but I don't really want to hear about any of you not doing the right thing and staying home/social distancing.

And Florida just announced no on-premise alcohol sales beginning at noon today. No clue if that applies to breweries and/or breweries with food on site, trying to figure out if I'm working tonight.

I saw that. It looks like it was only announced in a damn tweet which... how are people supposed to know exactly what that means? What constitutes a "bar"?

Rooster called me and was like "Prepare for another shut down, you know its bad when Texas shuts down." I agree, but Texas is in a very different situation than PA right now...

We are still very, very low in our county, which is why we feel ok doing our family only get together tomorrow for C-rex. (Also we're all being careful in our day to day). But honestly I see a lot of local people being way too relaxed. Corona aint over people!

It was unclear last time but essentially it was based on the business license. In Florida you are either a restaurant or bar based on that. When we were in this phase last time, breweries with on-site food (including trucks or carts) were able to be considered restaurants and could serve on site.

And yet, my SAH SIL wants to send her kid to camp because she can't deal with him. :jedi:

Tell her to have fun dealing with him while sitting next to a hospital bed with him for a week. :bird: Florida et al are going to be the next states to see spikes in MIS-C kids in about a month.

I am at a point where I assume I'm exposed anytime I leave the house, especially considering how many restaurants/bars/breweries around me keep shutting down due to exposure. I take my temp daily and will go get tested whenever I notice any symptoms at all. @MagnificentCat I'd go get tested and try not to stress about it as much as possible, though I know that is easier said than done. Hugs.
