Happy 10-year engagement anniversary to us!
Eating cheese, watching Toy Story.
@Comet finally tracked it down and talked to HR (ha)
a withdrawal was paid to the DFSA provider but they never deposited it. So I just need them to do that, make a claim for it and pay the income tax (it does appear on line 8!)
I suppose I can file. The w2 is correct.
Speaking of taxes...I have to file an amended 2018 return. Is it true that I need to file it on paper?? That’s so bizarre to me. I think I mentioned it here at the time, but our 401k provider enrolled me and let me contribute before I was eligible according to the plan documents, so they had to return my contributions, which they did in 2019 but it is 2018 income so I can’t deal with it in my current return. Instead I have to file an amended 2018. I just can’t believe anything is paper only these days! Also the amount on the form =/= the amount in the check I got so I will be calling John Hancock about that.
I’m still waiting for my W-2! WTF school district. The USPS informed delivery doesn’t show it coming today. It’s literally the only thing I’m waiting on.
When your dad keeps talking about his history with marijuana and speed at his great grandchild’s first birthday party and you can’t get him to change topics
Isn’t the mailing deadline 1/31?
we are also waiting on N’s W-2
I thought so. Maybe it just has to be postmarked by the 31st? I saw my friend yesterday and she didn't get hers yet either so our district just sucks. It better come tomorrow.
They just have to be postmarked by the 31st.
Yeah that’s what I meant - it needs to be put in the mail on or by 1/31. One of W’s forms isn’t arriving until 2/15 which pisses me off but I’m guessing since it’s not a W2 it doesn’t have the same deadline.
Yep, K-1s and 1099s for investments can be sent later because it takes a lot more to prepare them.
Aha that makes sense. This is for a dividend of, I’m not even kidding, $9.80 so it’s annoying that it is holding things up but I will be patient
Our visas are finally here (we leave on Friday), thank Lizzo.
Where are you going again?
Vietnam and Cambodia. The Vietnam visa was the problematic one.
That sounds like an awesome trip.
It should be great! I’m so excited to see my brother - it’s been almost a year and I miss him so much.
My in-laws just visited Vietnam & Cambodia and loved it. Have a great trip, and yay for seeing your bro!
I'll be using this forever, thanks.
Our friend who has had a ring in his pocket for a couple years FINALLY proposed. Thank god. She has a bangin job, is beautiful, super smart, a great friend in the “girl” group, and loves him so much even though he’s pretty weird! She could seriously get anyone and she’s choosing him—the crazy guy needed to lock it down!
She really was not rushing him but the past couple years she really wanted to at least get engaged. She was talking about how she didn’t want to give him an ultimatum but if she wasn’t it for him it’s okay, he just needed to let her know so she had time to meet someone else and go on with life. We were literally discussing can we keep HER if they break up??? I have no idea why he was waiting so long, he wouldn’t talk to the guys about it, J thinks he’s literally just a contrarian personality and didn’t want to do what’s “expected” of him. Ummm ok. Anyway, very stoked for them.
I am GROMP.
I developed a mild cough Monday it kept getting worse and then at work halfway through Tuesday I had to leave. Last night (Tuesday night) my fever was 103.6. It broke in the night for a normal temp this morning and I sweated like a whole person. I thought I was getting better and now it’s 102 again
Ewwwww. Feel better!
Oh no! I STILL have some iteration of my cough that I got back in December its been brutal. I hope you're on the mend soon, and that you get lots of healing pup snuggles.
Oh no! I hope you feel better soon @HBC!
@scotchbutter my brother was the same! His (now wife) is awesome. She is beautiful, incredibly nice, fits in great with my family, his friends love her, she has a MBA and an amazing job that I brag to people about and they were together for 9 years before he proposed. He is also very educated and has a great job, but he works a lot and can sometimes seriously shut down when he is exhausted or stressed out. If she had called it quits I do not for one second think he would have found anyone half as great. So glad he finally pulled the trigger.
To be fair, he has always been pretty apprehensive about making large commitments and second guesses himself a lot. He was an anxious kid. If he needed time then that is fine. I just worried he'd miss out on a great thing.
