A lady responded to a regular email with no sensitive information with a secure message that you need a code to open. I was not emailed a secure code to enter, and clicking the “send another code” link also did not produce any code. When I explained this to her in another email, she responded by attaching a video of “how to open a secure email”. I had to backspace many times before sending my next email.

There's a girl in my class who is allergic to wheat. We provide lunch to students, but the caterer doesn't have a wheat free special meal available so we have been asking the parents to provide her lunch. This student doesn't come often. Last time (before today) that was here, mom only brought a pediasure and let her drink it before she even came into the classroom. So she had nothing for lunch, but tried to tell us that she can have the parmesan chicken (that is obviously coated in breadcrumbs). Then the little girl took a bite of another student's bread.............. and cried that she couldn't have it. The only thing we had to give her was fruit and the vegetables that she doesn't eat so of course so felt really bad that she was taking someone else's food without adequate food of her own. Mom came and picked her up and she was fine, but then she was gone for a week. Apparently mom gave her chicken nuggets and her face swelled up (because duh, whear). She came back today and her lunch was 2 cheese sticks, strawberries, juice box, and town house style crackers that are definitely not wheat free. Spoke to dad and said I was worried they had wheat so I didnt give them to her and he insisted they didnt. :wall:

ALSO, last time we had a class party (Thanksgiving, I think) and she was here, I asked mom if she could bring an alternative treat for her. Her mom said "cupcakes and cookies should be fine, they don't have wheat." :wall::wall::wall::wall: I feel like maybe they think if it's not whole wheat, listed on the front of the packaging, then its fine?? I don't even know. I just really hope I don't need to give this girl an EpiPen one of these days when I have no choice but to give her the food her parents send in.

MWG was a snotty mess Monday afternoon, so I sent him home (and told him to stay home Tuesday) to lessen my risk of getting sick. Guess who hasn't called in sick or shown up today?

I am hoping it is just a coincidence that he called out Friday and then was snotty Monday afternoon. He was fine mid day Monday.

Or maybe his snottiness was all a ruse.

One year for the program @virgo then staying at least one more year. Some days I think I can do this for a long while then other days I miss P and Ryder so much that I want to quit and go home. Such is life.

As long as you see the end goal and that pinprick of light at the end of the tunnel, you can get through it. It suuuuuucks, though.

I don’t know. That’s some pretty ballsy lying. I just figured he’s average at being sick too.

Someone brought their dog in for tick removal yesterday. Owner had been using essential oils for prevention. Congratulations, essential oils couldn't keep a tick off your dog, in February, in upstate New York. I just pet the dog on the head and smelled like an oily hun for an hour.

MWG emailed me that he has a doctor's appointment this morning and then he'd like to work from home the rest of the day so he doesn't get me sick.

I stopped by the MPR (multipurpose room/cafeteria) on my break to support the parent volunteers or something and possibly get free food, but then I got involved in some ritual where I was given a maraca to hold, a Native American guy was talking and gave me some sage, and then we all walked in a line for a minute while using maracas and other wooden instruments?

I’m not complaining, it just wasn’t how I expected those 5 minutes of my life to go.
