It's interview season! So far, headed to Omaha, Dayton, Sioux Falls, and Charlottesville, VA. Hopefully I'll get some invites places Chickens are and be able to meet up!

Ok, so I have basically the worst group I've never had. Our project is mostly done, but it sucks. I can't seem to care enough right now to fix anyone's work. I'll leave it floating around, but honestly, if that's it then I'll just turn it in for us. At this point, as long as I pass this class, then I don't care anymore since this is my last semester.

I distinctly remember having the same issue for one class. Generally I would fix it, but I was out of Fs to give and time. It was an Ancient Egyptian art history class, and they used like a manga depiction of one of the gods (or several? Can't remember if he did all of his like that), instead of, you know, legit artifacts. Prof definitely marked us down and specifically pointed that out. But, last semester so yay! You're almost there! Nobody sees your grades later anyway.

I was like, "We'll, I'll definitely make at least a C in this class, so who cares!" I think it'll at least be a B, but again, who cares!

R’s new job has massive tuition assistance for grad school and I’m seething with jealousy at the moment.

I should be happy for him, right? That seems like the mature response. I’m pretty sure he wants the masters more than me, anyway. Just agh, the last time we talked about grad school was before fertility treatments and baby and I guess I just mentally shelved that plan for both of us and now it’s an option but just for one of us.

It might not be in the plan for now, but you can always get a masters later on. I get pretty good tuition assistance with my job, and I've made use of it. S wants to get his MBA and we will likely pay that out of pocket later on. Hopefully he does get a job that will help out too though.

Have you verified your company doesn't do assistance? My company does but they don't really tell anyone, you have to look through the policies to find it. Probably a way to have less people use it and save money.

I’m still looking. It’s something to bring up when the time is right, but I don’t think 2 months in with an 8 month old isn’t the right time.

True, but it also tells them you're interested in being with them for the longer term.

Since I whine so much about my group, I'll add something good that one of them did. I had given up on the project, and the group member went in and revamped it to make it look more cohesive. I was shocked!

I turned in everything for one of my classes, so I am completely done with that class now! For the other class, our 3rd partner sucks at writing. Like, it's so bad. So many run on sentences. He gets lost in thought too. I went through and edited his work as much as I could. It really, honestly, hurt my brain to try to figure out what he was trying to say. The other group member then went behind me and tried to edit it a bit more. We did the best we could. The guy is supposedly going to be an HR Manager once he graduates. Ok, man. I hope they never have you write anything.

Is it a bad idea to take the last (online) class I need to get my masters while working full time and 5-7 months?

It’s an 8 week class. IDK but I feel like it’s better to do that than try to do it during maternity leave or over the summer with a toddler.

5-7 months is when I probably felt my best. I took an in-person undergrad class at that point while working full time and managed fine, but I'm not sure what your homeworkload would be like.

In my opinion, it's better to do it then vs on maternity leave. Some days, I barely got anything done while on maternity leave. My coursework is mostly fine with my toddler. I work around her sleep schedule.

It's fine! One course, and it being online, should be ok. Definitely better to get it out of the way before baby is born, when given the chance.

The male student who sexually harassed multiple females in my class but was totally reformed and allowed back after completing some sort of program now has a second complaint against him.

How hard is it to believe women the first time because I think we were pretty motherfucking clear.

My last class for my masters has begun! It's all online and I don't think it'll be too hard, there are really only 5 assignments (some of which will take a while though) and 2 discussions, over 8 weeks.

Of course since the class started on Sunday and it's Thursday, and it wasn't *crystal clear* when things were due, there were a bunch of people in the "virtual office" asking about due dates. One girl sent a mass email to the class, and (I assume it was her) "sent multiple emails in a 3-4 hour period" to the professor and "seemed upset that [he] didn't respond immediately." I texted him (as usual, his cell phone number was listed on the syllabus, lucky for him she missed that) and was relaxed about it, and he said he'd put up a calendar. After he did he posted an announcement with the quoted bits and saying that email is not and never has been considered an instant form of communication, give him 24-48 hours to reply

But yay for your last class!! I hope it flies by!

Done with interviews! Now to make a rank list, wait for match, and then scramble to find a place to live and potentially move!

I technically graduate May 1, but I only have 6 more weeks of clinicals between now and then.
