Boooo, Lucy needs a roof deck, she doesn’t care if it’s small!
Oh no! Was it the one you showed me?
“The roof deck is too small” DO YOU EVEN HEAR YOURSELF W
Yeah W, how big is your current roof deck?
We had a really productive talk. I am going to arrange a second viewing and ask some questions we have to the agent and he is going to do some homework on permit parking in the area.
The house on Friday was nice but when I voiced my concerns (can't expand it later, the neighborhood is nice now but prime real estate for investors to move students in, less of a long term home) he agreed with them. But isn't ready to commit to the house we both loved until we see it again and get some answers to some of our questions.
There is one more house we are trying to arrange a viewing for but he turned down the idea of him doing some more viewings alone this week (he has the week off). I don't want us to confuse ourselves I think so that's fine--but I can understand how he needs more information before a commitment.
That’s really promising!
It depends on the market of course, and how fast houses are moving, but we’ve always done a second viewing on homes we were strongly considering making an offer on. It helps you remember what you loved about it (or not) and gives some reassurance one way or the other.
I think it's pretty common here to do second viewings ahead of an offer. A says a colleague of his even did a third! It was twilight when we first saw it so would be best to see it in daylight anyway. The house is vacant anyway so viewings shouldn't be difficult for the owner.
I think a second viewing is a great idea @A. Ham ! And I’m glad you had a productive talk. Oh, and yes, it is the one I showed you.
why did I not think of saying this???
Ahh that was a really nice place. Do a lot of places have roof decks? Is a bigger one something likely to come up?
There are only like 15-ish in our whole downtown! So no, not a lot. That said, they are mostly bigger than this one (which isn’t tiny but isn’t big enough for a party).
Who needs other people for a party? Lucy is the party.
So we had a second viewing on Saturday and it went really well. We pretty much decided on offering but didn't put one in over the weekend while we discussed the exact amount at home.
This morning I talked to the agent and another offer had gone in, but they knew we were keen on the house too so wanted to tell us before proceeding. A and I talked and decided to go with the figure we discussed over the weekend and put in the offer. We were accepted! Apparently the other offer was extremely close £ wise but they are in a chain and we're not selling a house so the sellers chose us!
We're so excited! It's often a long process from here but we're very relieved. I started a home decor pinterest board too, haha.
Thanks!! Everything similar was a more expensive commute away and 10-30k more (which is big at our price point) so I'm glad we got this one!
Yay, so exciting!
Yay!!! I’m so glad it worked out! Congrats!!!
Omg that’s so exciting! Congratulations!
Yay Ham Fam!!
