The Costco wipes are pretty big, we still use them.
Same @CoolWife . I hated Costco diapers but love their wipes.
The Cloud Island wipes are VERY similar to the Costco wipes. They're actually a bit thicker.
@deet Oh that is really smart...
These things are great. We have blue dog ones.
Our Ubbi pail stinks too, but that could be because I stopped using bags in it because it's just so. much. trash. But even despite washing it weekly and never throwing like actual blowouts in there or anything, it still reeks. I can't wait for him to be potty trained lol.
Gas drops, gas drops, gas drops.
We used this baby bath tub: https://www.target.com/p/skip-hop-m...fkcXTECX9uQvDbFAYq4aAo5mEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds basically as soon as C's little umbilical cord nub fell off. Used it until a little over a year, and now it is a cute storage container for his blocks!
@Fitz That’s the one we used too and I loved it. We packed it up for future next baby but maybe I’m missing out on cute storage in the meantime lol.
If you really want something big, one of my students has something called “ReliaMed Adult Washcloths” which are huge. They’re on Amazon but I don’t think that’s the most cost effective way to get them.
Bless you. Yes. I want something for the initial wipe of the massive post-food offerings, not for precision cleaning.
Apologies all for that mental image.
For that first swipe, I just wet a paper towel (however many half sheets you need combined to make a mega towel lol) wring it out in the sink, then wipe her down.
I used to use a bunch of baby wipes but the scrubbing + wipe really irritated her face. I find if I scrub with plain water and then go in with a baby wipe just for the final clean up it’s gentler somehow.
We use the wipes for cleaning hands and face when we are out, but at home we just use a wet cloth, using warm soapy water especially if it’s extra messy.
Are we talking about wiping butts or faces here?
Butts for me. The thick food-related dirty diapers. We don’t use that many when out for hands and face. But I could use half a pack from some of these purées.
Oops definitely misunderstood. My SIL swears by the Honest Company soothing bottom wash. It’s a spray, and she says she sprays it on, and everything wipes away super easy. I haven’t tried it myself though.
@MagnificentCat use the diaper to wipe her ass. I will scoop upwards and use the rest of the cloth on the back of the diaper for an especially heinous shitstorm before moving to wipes.
also ditched the diaper pail because I couldn't stand the stink. It works out easier to use a small trash can with a lid with either a plastic grocery bag or small trash bag and just take it out more frequently- like with every poop. Not super practical for the newborn phase since they go through so many diapers (but their poop doesn't smell half as bad either).
Woops, glad I didn’t tell you to just lick your finger!
Also we have the munckin diaper pails with the arm & hammer discs and they are awesome!
Ohhhhhh definitely meant faces, whoops.
I also use the diaper to make my first pass, then move on to wipes.
You’ve inspired my instastory-thing and probably the only time I’ll post a picture of the kid’s face. Enjoy!
