So I think some locals boards would be fun (idea stolen from Deet) so any California chickens with stuff to talk about, post here! Earthquakes, droughts, local politics, how shitty your commute was on I-80 or the 405, local events, etc. Of course, non-California chickens can join in too!
NorCal chickens, I hear we might get some rain tomorrow. I am much excite.

California! NorCal is superior, obviously

So who is a CA native? I was born and raised here and have lived in the Bay Area all my life.

NorCal 4 lyfe. I was born and raised here. I left my hometown in the east bay to live in SF for a few years but noped out of that. I hate city living.

I was born in Los Angeles and moved to NorCal when I was nine. Superior, indeed.

    Excited for rain!

I live out of state, but I'll always be a Californian. There's even a Nor-Cal sticker on my car, complete with nautical star because I will never grow up.

I'm a California girl born and raised. I was born in LA and I have lived in San Diego since middle school. I also went to college in the Bay Area, specifically Belmont and I loved it there. If I was ever going to leave SoCal I would move back there in a heartbeat. I would especially love some Bay Area weather right now, it's been in the 100's for over a week in San Diego

Janet, I love San Diego. My sister went to UCSD so I got to go there a lot. It's one of the few places in SoCal that I wouldn't mind living in. I heard about that heat wave and OMG I would die. I hate it when it gets above 80 here (we also live in a finished attic apartment so really, anything over 65 outside is pure torture in our apartment).

San Diego is pretty much the only city in California that D and I can agree on, so if we ever move back, you'll have another reason to visit.

As an Arizonan, I think I'm supposed to hate you all from SoCal. Or maybe it's just LA? I do hate LA.

San Diego is so lovely though. And I quite enjoyed San Fran (though would never pay the cost to live there!).

nym711 THIS IS MY LIFE NOW

I was born in central California. I moved away when I was 8 but visited twice since then. I had a horrible time in San Diego with my sister and BIL (we stayed with his family and the two of them argued the entire time) and then I stayed at the base of Mt. Shasta for S's family reunion last year.

San Diego is the best Virgo (except in September) we actually live in North County but we will be moving to San Diego proper at the end of November when our current lease is up so we can be closer to my husband's new job which is close to UCSD. I am so jazzed.

BFG maybe you're just supposed to hate LA? I don't know of any hate for Arizona from San Diegans—unless it's a sports thing, the disregard what I said. I don't know jack all about sports.

I always said if I were to move to America, it would only be to California! I have family just outside of San Diego, and looooove it so much.

Haha I know that area code but only because I’m technically enrolled at CSUMB and have had phone calls from them (I say “technically” because my program is all online).

So do we think we'll actually get any rain? The clouds are starting to look gnarly over here.

3rd generation Santa Monica right here. Moved to Seattle area in June, though.

WOAH WOAH WOAH Virgo, you're at CSUMB? Have you ever been? It's really post-apocalyptic. I'm shocked no one's filmed a zombie movie or something there yet.

I went to San Francisco for ten days once. My hippie friend was living there with her boyfriend, (they met at a Rainbow gathering) and failed to mention they were homeless. But they did have a pickup truck with a canopy.

Lucy that's awful, did you stay with them??

Sure did. We washed up in Mcdonalds bathrooms and I couldn't switch my return flight. On day 9 they took me to an airport hotel.
